UW Extension Family Living Educators and
Master Home Food Preservers Cindy Muhar and
Melinda Stuart invite you to join us at the
Milwaukee County UW Extension office this
summer, to learn the basics of food preservation
science and how to can salsa for your eating
pleasure!
Find out how to use a hot water bath canner to
prepare foods that will make your family and
friends ask for more!

Introduction to Food Preservation
Wed. Aug. 13 2014 1:30 or 5:30 p.m.
All are welcome to learn the basics of home food
preservation through this lecture style
presentation. Water bath canning, pressure
canning, dehydrating and freezing principles will
all be discussed. All food preservation equipment
will be displayed. Class fee $10.




Canning Salsa Demonstration Workshop
Wed. Aug. 27, 2014 1:45 or 5:45 p.m.
Learn how to prepare salsa to share with your
friends and family! Salsa, made with tomatoes,
peppers and onions can be served with chips,
guacamole, and in a variety of ways to soothe
hunger cravings of all ages! Well show you how
to preserve delicious salsa for use throughout the
year. Youll receive a recipe book and a jar of
salsa to enjoy at home. Class fee $35



Join us, to learn about the art and science of food
preservation this summer at the Milwaukee
County UW Extension office. Food preservation
is enjoying a resurgence in popularity, due to the
eat local, eat fresh movement.

Learn how to preserve produce from your garden,
or a local farmers market, and treat your family
and friends to healthy, fresh food, prepared by
you, throughout the year.
