Minutes of Meeting Brain Storming Session on

Indigenous Model of Teaching in Higher & Technical Education



Bharatiy Shikshan Mandal (BSM) is established to reorient the present education system in the light of the
values of Indian culture, so that each student turns out to be a worthy citizen inspired by values like
national integration, nobility of thought and character, spiritual elevation, dignity of labour, disciplined
life, social harmony, and humane sensibility.
In the Context of teaching - Learning process in Technical education a Brain Storming Session on
Indigenous Model of Teaching in Higher & Technical Education was organized on Wednesday, 2
nd
October
2013 at 9.30 am.
The session was opened by Shri Mukul Kanitkar, All India Joint Organizing Secretary, BSM. He
expressed need for such session and invited suggestions & inputs from the participants. He emphasized
on the importance of education of Indian origin and its benefits for nation building.
The aim of this interactive session was to initiate a thought movement among teachers,
educationists, thinkers and enlightened intellectuals who can bring about an awakening in the academia.
This objective was to start a process of evolving a suitable national model for Education through the
inputs for the academia. About 45 academician were present for the session.
The participants expressed their views. The session resolved with following suggestions
To organized such interactions time to time.
A workshop on the same topic would be helpful in achieving the greater goal.
The workshop would provide a platform for new innovative ideas & their expression.
Need for such brain storming session was expressed by all the participants.
It will prove helpful in day to day teaching learning process.
Emphasis on philosophies of Swami Vivekananda & Indian Values can provide guiding
path to the younger generation.
Methodologies need to be identified for thinking in way which will provide the Industry
and academia a better prospect.
Need for including moral & value based education in academia was stressed upon.
There is emergent need of conducting such session for students as well as academicians
at different levels to make them aware of the present degrading values in education.
There is an emergent situation ahead which demands our attention through our united
efforts to enable the students to think for national interest.

The session chair Dr. Ravindra V. Kshirsargar Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology RTM Nagpur
University, Nagpur congratulated the organizers for the organization. In his presidential address he
mentioned the need for uplifting of the educational system through the joint efforts of academicians & the
authorities together. He informed the gathering about the present day scene of national institutes in
providing research inputs to students and convert the same into a nationally beneficial project. He
assured all possible assistance from his side for the efforts required in this mission of nation building.
The session was compeered by Prof. N S Damle. Dr.Arvind Joshi, BSM, Nagpur informed
the gathering about the publications' from BSM aimed for spreading awareness among the society about
the rich heritage of India in all dimensions of science & technology. He also proposed vote of thanks.
