1.1 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION 1.1 M T
The tanks and vessels scope of works
covers the cold water storage tanks,
chilled water expansion tanks, as well as
the accessories for the in situ conrete
tanks for fire and domestic water.
The contractor shall also be responsible
for preparing tank dimension drawings
showing tank sizes, depths, penetrations,
access hatches, etc for the basement
tanks.
Note that the basement tanks are to be
constructed by others. This contractor is
to allow for tank fitments including, but
not limited to covers, puddle flanges,
vents, filling accessoires such as ball
valves, suction accessories such as anti-
vortex devices, etc.

3 MATERIALS 3 VT T
3.1 WATER STORAGE TANKS 3.1 BN LU CHA NC
General
Allow for all mechanical items necessary
to complete the tanks as shown on the
drawings and described in these
specifications.

The cover shall be provided with an
access manway of not less than 460mm
dia. clear opening and positioned
adjacent to ball valve entries in each
compartment. Adequately sized screened
cowl vents will be fitted to ensure
unrestricted water flow from the tank.
A steel internal ladder shall be provided
for all tanks over 1220mm in depth upon
request.
External ladders will be provided in
accordance with BS4211:1994
The tank shall be supplied with all
necessary stays, cleats and pipe
connections that shall be factory fitted to
the tank and cover panels.
Submit puddle flanges for approval.
