Have you ever wondered who invented the airplane? Well you can find out in this third grade
research paper, you can find out about their entire lifetime. Keep reading for the info about these
great inventers and their invention that changed the world, it is an interesting lifetime and you
should find out about everything.

Wilbur Wright came to earth on April 16, 186. !"el#er$ His arrival location was %illville,
&ndiana. 'rville Wright was brought to earth on August 1(, 181. !"el#er$ He arrived at the
location of )ayton, 'hio. *he boys were born about four years apart. !"el#er$ *hese two boys
were the beginning of a brilliant invention and they were going to help the world. !"el#er$ *heir
invention was the airplane and it helped everyone by letting them get places easier. !"el#er$

When the Wright brothers were young their father had bought them a toy helicopter, and
after they got it they were interested in flying and flying machines, and after they learned about it
enough they tried to fly. !*aboola$ +o their father made all this happen and all of it possible, so he
should had also been rewarded for the great invention too. !*aboola$

,either of the Wright brothers made it through high school, 'rville dropped out of high
school after his -unior year. Wilbur got out the hard way. he was playing in a ho/ey game and
somehow got an in-ury and wasn0t able to go bac/ to high school. !White$ +o, both of the Wright
brother didn0t get the high school learning, but were still able to do all of the inventing things they
need li/e to do the math. Wilbur later went bac/ to high school and finished his years but still
didn0t receive his diploma. !White$ *he Wright "rothers never got an 1ducation from college even
if they went bac/. !White$ As they got older, the "rothers had a printing business where they
created a new copy writer that came out much better than any normal copier. *hey did this when
they were in college or before college, so they started at an early age. !*aboola$

)ayton, 'hio is where the Wright "rothers live, where they became famous and where it all
started, the planes, medals, rewards and all sorts of stuff. !2act%onster$ *he brothers wor/ at their
cycle company that they founded together, that3s where they started to get better with building and
tin/ering with things, li/e, there invention the airplane. !2actmonster$ He got 11 honorary degrees
from many places around the world li/e places in 1urope and the 4nited +tates, and won lots of
medals and tons of awards in his long and great life.!2actmonster$ After Wilbur died the
government as/ed for 'rville3s help with several aeronautical boards. He was also on tons of
commissions, for his and his brothers invention. 'rville also became a consultant with many of the
private aircraft companies that /eep trying to master the brother invention.!2actmonster$ +o, he
had a long career that he made happen he got rewards and medals from around the
world.!2actmonster$ We don3t /now what career Wilbur had since he had died 56 years before

'rville and Wilbur Wright never got married, but & thin/ the Wright brothers should have
gotten married because you can always be happier with someone special in your life to always be
there for you and to ma/e you happy when your down and to put a smile on your face.

second heart attac/ on 7anuary 9, 1(68, and sadly died three days after, he was 6 when he
probably missed him a lot he had died he lived a lot longer than Wilbur. "ut he and his brother did

Wilbur Wright died 56 years before 'rville, in 1(19 on %ay 58 of a typhoid fever and there
weren3t many cures that could save people from this sic/ness so he couldn3t have been saved but
his family didn3t give up hope. +urprisingly, after Wilbur died in 1(19, 'rville was still alive but,
he sold their business. He watched as the dream of him and his brother came true in the age of
reality in the modern world. Wilbur would be proud of what the world has done with their brilliant

*he Wright brother3s greatest invention was a manned airplane, it was brilliant. !)olasia$
*he Wright "rothers first successful powered flight was on *hursday, )ecember 1 1(85 at 18:5;

it had an engine and with 'rville at the controls on the =lane they had beat gravity3s grasp and
created a master piece. !)olasia$ *hey /new they could do it, and they did the first powered flight

was the Wright brother3s first successful and satisfying flight. !)olasia$. After ten months the
Wright brothers had figured out and solved the problems li/e what they were doing wrong and
fi@ed them and then, the brothers first successful flight happened with 'rville at the controls on the
plane, it went 198 feet across the beautiful sand at a beach in Kitty Haw/, ,orth <arolina, in
twelve seconds, the beaches were perfect for landings on the soft sand and it was windy on the
beaches and helped with the planes flying and steering. !)olasia$.

*he Wright brothers were determined to invent and ma/e a flying machine that wor/ed but
other people tried before but could only master part of the flying with the wing design and with the
right engines, but there were still things li/e the problems of balancing and when you steer when
men were on it while it was flying was still not solved. Another problem was people always needed
to get places far away and didn0t have a good way to get there. *o travel to these faraway places it
would ta/e a very long time, sometimes they might have to go over mountains, oceans and maybe
even -ust a really long way away. *here were a lot of problems before the airplane and their
brilliant invention helped solve those problems. !"ellis$

=eople always wanted to go places far away without a good way to get there, li/e when
people need to get over mountains or oceans it would ta/e forever and the Wright brothers wanted
to invent something to solve this problem. *he Wright "rothers /ept trying to inventAma/e
something to solve this problem and wor/ed on things li/e their &nvention the airplane, to get
people places near and far, which could ta/e passengers where ever they need to go. After the
invention was finished everyone could have an easier time getting places near and far. *he
invention was a great solution to these problems.

*he Wright brothers use a piston engine but was at its early age was another brea/through
which let the Wright brothers use the engine and provide power to run the propellers. At the time a
piston engine was a very good advantage and different engines don0t wor/ as well. A piston engine
was a better thing to use in their plane, so it wor/ed better and let them use the airplanes more often
and continuously running, so people could fly in a plane any time they need to get somewhere.

*he Wright "rothers 'rville and Wilbur Wright built the first airplane in the history of
man/ind but the luc/y brothers were also the first people to ride one of these planes that they made
in a bicycle shop they had a great long fun life they were a big help to this world. *hey made

+ome earlier inventions were, the brothers invented li/e the air plane they designed it and it
wor/ed very well. A copy writer it wor/ed much better than any other copy writers. "efore, they
did not wor/ very well at all. *he Wright brothers /new there was room for improvement and went
on to the airplane to get better at ma/ing things.

1ven though the brothers didn0t go to college they were still able to invent something at
their early age and this was one of their first inventions. *his invention started a life time of
inventing things and helping the world, and li/e all of their other inventions it still wor/ed very

in them, a little at least. *hey were called gliders they were made by the Wright brothers
themselves. "ut they did actually built one or maybe even two that were big enough for people to

wind in the bright big blue s/y for about ten seconds then drifted slowly down bac/ to the ground.

After Wilbur died, in 1(16 'rville gave away the lease on their bicycle shop, which was
where he and his brother built things li/e the airplane and moved into a laboratory he built ne@t to

eventually gave up the lease on their great bicycle shop where all of their memories were and
moved to a different laboratory he had built not so far away.

Wilbur and 'rville didn0t attend college, but their younger sister Katherine did attend college.
%aybe their little sister helped them with the math to ma/e their inventions. +ince she went to
college she probably helped the brothers with the harder thin/ing things. And if she didn0t go to
college the brothers might not have been able to complete their planeAglider and we wouldn0t have
