MEDIEVAL PARK AND MUSEUM
Functions contained by each pavilion
1. info point
2. exhibition area
-> interior: scenes reconstructed/ big objects
-> shelves on the sides, near the windows so
that they can be seen from outside
2. seating area
-> steps that can be sat on
3. view points over the ruins
5. toilet unit
6. children playground
-> modules that can be combined by children
in various ways
Literature review => divide the museum in pavilions:
=> small structures : - are more feasible
- can have a more flexible approach
- can be used 24/24 hours
- can be more appropriated by the users
- provide facilities for the festivals that take place in the summers
- can be used as learning centers about the medieval history by the universities and schools
-> each pavilion -> different medieval theme: social life, way of dressing, way of cooking, working the land, crafting,
religious aspects, construction techniques, etc.
-> physical characteristics of the pavilions -> inspired from the medieval model => wood, building raised from the ground
teams of students, that study history, architecture, landscape, etc.)
- they will be placed in the strategic points of the park: the entrances and the proximities of the ruins
-> each pavilion will be customized for the place where it will be situated
