Classic cars filled the
streets of Seminole last Sat-
urday evening as the annual
drag brought many from
across the state and coun-
try home for an evening in
Seminole. Above, an ole
time Ford shows its muscle
as it lays down some tire for
those nearby. At right, Gavin
Megee proudly shows off
the Chevy truck he and his
uncle built together.
shown that kids who eat a bal-
anced diet perform better in
school, so we take the work we
do seriously, Feeback said.
We want the kids to leave
the cafeteria full and ready to
focus on the day. Our meals
dont just taste good theyre
designed to serve as fuel for
kids in the classroom.
Keystone got its start pro-
viding meal service at frater-
nity and sorority houses on
college campuses in Norman
and Stillwater.
The company began serv-
ing its first public school at the
request of one of its vendors.
Today, Keystone serves
more than 30 schools in Okla-
homa, and the company con-
tinues to grow.
There are some great
school administrators in Okla-
homa who truly want to do
whats best for their students,
and they are willing to think
outside the box when it comes
to nutrition, Feeback said.
We are proud to partner
with Bowlegs Public Schools,
and we are grateful to the
school board and the adminis-
tration for their willingness to
try something new to benefit
the kids they serve.
We are already getting
great feedback about the food
we are serving here, and we
are looking forward to always
cooking up something great for
these kids.
the smoking tires and burning
rubber left on the red bricks of
Main Street.
Friends gathered here and
there before they moved off
down the streets in search of
other past high school class-
mates and friends.
It was a time of friends
walking among the cars as
they eased their way down
the route of the drag, allowing
many to stick their head into a
passing car long enough to say
hey and pull in and park just
over there.
A small group from Semi-
nole High Schools graduating
class of 78 used the event as
a mini-reunion and gathered
prior to the drag for a dinner at
a local restaurant to reminisce
once more about their high
school days and where theyve
been since.
The annual drag night has
grown over the past four years
into a small festival of its own
for a few hours on a Saturday
evening where friends gather
to remember the good ole days
of high school before adult-
hood responsibilities got in the
way of being young.
The one night event brings
grandparents, parents, and
children together, showing the
younger ones the amazing fun
of gathering together without
electronic devices getting in
the way.
The joy of visiting with
friends and families face-to-
face with a cell phone left in
the back pocket until a quick
photo is needed and then
returned once again to the
pocket.
It was a return of time gone
by as people ranging from little
tykes to elders gathered on the
streets of downtown Seminole
to wave a friendly hello to
passing cars.
Visitors sat in the warm
evening sunshine to just sit
and chat about all the different
makes and models of classic
to modern cars full of families
and friends passing by.
In other words, those out of
the loops were able to find out
which couples from their high
school years were still together
and also which classmates had
passed on.
T-shirts to commemorate
the event were on sale for those
who wanted a token other than
the photos taken to keep the
memory of their Saturday
night in August 2014 when
they spent it Draggin Main
Seminole Style.
