I think that young adults should live with their families until they complete th

eir basic graduation. But after that, they should think of moving out of their pa
rents' home if they plan to pursue higher studies or start working.
The first reason for this opinion is that during our graduation days we need to
focus on our studies. Living with our parents will help us to focus solely on ou
r studies as other resonsibities are shouldered by parents. Secondly,I feel that
even though we are adults during graduation studies we are still not mature eno
ugh to live independently.
However, once we complete our graduation, we become confident of our achievement.
We know that we have knowledge that can be of use to others. We become more matu
re and responsible individuals. So when we reach the age of 21-22,that is the ti
me we complete our graduation, our next step should be to move out of our parent
s' home. This can be compared to a baby bird flying out of its nest. Initially t
he baby bird is scared and refuses to fly.But the mother pushes it out of the ne
st and then it learns to fly. In the same manner living independently will make
us more responsible and help us to understand the difficulties of running a home
.Of course,we can enjoy the perks of living alone such as freedom, having friends
over at home during odd times etc. but we also have to shoulder many responsibi
lities. These include managing domestic chores as well as our finances, health et
c. Also this is the time when we need to think of our future like planning our s
avings, starting a family or chalking out our career ambitions.
In conclusion,I believe that we need to stay with our parents till the age of 21
-22,that is till the completion of our basic graduation. After that we need to le
arn to fend for ourselves and learn to spread our wings to fly just like the bab
y bird does.
The passage provides examples of altruism by providing the example of meerkats a
nd human beings who donate organs. But the passage contradicts this stance by pro
viding various scientic facts and other key points.
The first example of meerkat is contradicted in the lecture by pointing out that
the guarding meerkat eats food before all other meerkats which directly opppose
s the point in the passage that it goes hungry. The next point made in the lectur
e is that the guarding meerkat stands near a burrow and hence is the first to es
cape in case of danger. Also the lecture gives the valid point that an alarm call
brings the other animals together or scatter about attracting attention of the
predator but at the same time diverting the attention from the guarding meerkat.
This is in direct contrast to the passage which says that the guarding meerkat p
uts its life in danger to save the lives of other meerkats and that the group of
meerkats can fight off the predator together.
Secondly the example of organ donation is also contradicted in the lecture by ex
plaining the value of immesurable gain from organ donation such as respect, incre
ased self worth and appreciation, approval from society. This is in direct contras
t to the passage that says that human beings get almost no reward for donating o
rgans.
In conclusion, the lecture provides valid points to contradict the main idea give
n in the passage that the meerkat and humans donating organs are examples of alt
ruism.
