Metacritic: Not yet rated & User Score: 8.3 (of only 29 reviews) NBC s president uses Sunday and Monday nights for the best shows believing that strong ratings early in the week will lead to strong ratings Wednesdays and Thursdays. Analysis:
There are countless apocalyptical themed television series and movies. The world of zombies and the undead are very popular among the 18-49 demo, bringing in high ratings for series like The Walking Dead, and even Revolution.
Revolution is the stand out series. It has been a huge success for NBC as it was the strongest premiere for the network in five years. The cast is able to connect with fans with digital/techy promotions as the concept of the series is centered on the idea of a global loss of power. The series is struggling more in the second season, and has a hard time keeping viewers around for the second half of the hour.
The Strain is a highly anticipated series. The director is also the author of the vampire trilogy and the producers have cast a group of well-known actors. The books are beloved by many and the series as an FX original, will be an edgy, darker show like the networks other popular hits such as American Horror Story and The Americans.
The Last Ship can be compared to the military themed Last Resort. The Last Ship carries a similar plot line to the Last Resort with the plot altered to center around global contamination.
