General Policies

Before/After School Procedures
Faculty are not to be in the building, or on the school grounds, before
4:00pm and after 8:05pm Eastern time zone, unless they are under the
supervision of a faculty administrator.
Use of Lavatories
Faculty may use lavatories between classes and during lunch. You are not
permitted to use the lavatories when you have a class. You are not allowed to
leave your students un-attended.

Emergency Drills
During a any drill you must tells students to remain quiet and follow
instructions. Each drill is to be treated as an actual emergency. Adherence to
these rules will be strictly enforced for the safety of all students and faculty.
o Fire - During a Fire Drill students need to line up at the door, and
exit the room quietly and in an orderly matter. You need to
proceed to the nearest exit with the students. Each exit in the
building is Labeled with a Green "EXIT" Sign above the door.

o Lockdown - During a Lockdown Drill students need listen to their
teacher, the teachers will direct all of the students into the corner of
the room where you can't be seen from the doorway. You will un-
name you and your students and you or the students will not be
able to talk. The lights will be off and the door will be locked and
you will not be allowed to move. There are 3 levels of lockdown
you need to be aware of.
1. Students are not permitted to leave the room, but class will
continue with the door locked..

2. Students are not permitted to leave the room, the lights
will be shutoff and the door will remain locked, and students
will remain at your desks.
3. Students are not permitted to leave the room, the lights
will be shutoff, you will assign students an assigned area for
the students to sit in the corner of the room not visible from
the doorway. The door will also be locked.
o Tornado - During a tornado drill, students will line up at the door
and will proceed to the nearest "Safe Place" the safe places located
in GMS are in the Bathrooms. You will lead the students to the
closest bathroom. You will line them up against the wall facing it,
and will not talk and wait until further instructions.

Student Discipline Actions you can Give

Lunch Detention
A lunch detention will be assigned to students with minor
infractions of school rules, such as dress code, tardiness to class,

minor disruptions, or roaming the halls without a pass. Failure to
report to lunch detention will result in an after-school detention.

After-School Detention
After-School detention is assigned to students who continue to
break the same rules more than 3 times in a 9 weeks, such as dress
code, tardiness to class, class disruptions, and roaming halls without
a pass. Failure to report to After-School Detention will result in a
Suspension.

Enforcing Student Dress Code

All students are expected to give proper attention to personal
cleanliness and to dress appropriately for school and school funded
events including extra-curricular and athletic activities. Teachers and
all other school administrators should exemplify and reinforce
acceptable student dress code and help students develop an
understanding of appropriate appearance in the school setting and
at school activities.
HOW STUDENTS SHOULD NOT DRESS
o No exposure to underwear

o No head covers in school; however, head covers in classrooms are
at the individual teacher's discretion except for a religious purpose.
o No short shorts, or rope strap shirts. (Your Torso shouldn't be
shown.)
o No items that relate to drugs, vulgar, obscene, libelous or denigrate
of account of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, gender or
gang related. All other clothing will be allowed.
