ENTREPRENEURSHIP OBSERVATION
First, Donat Salman, this not the official name of this business, I just call it like that, because when I ask to the seller
what is this business name, she just answer jualan donat. It is located in Salman area. The activity is selling the
donat to everyone who pass Salman, especially college student like ITB. Her name is Mrs. Rusmini and I did my
interview with her. Mrs. Rusmini do not make her own donat, but she get the donat from a company in Padasuka. In
the night, she call the people in Padasuka that makes donat if she reserve 20 boxes of donat, for example, and in the
next morning, the employee from Padasuka come to her house in Gelap Nyawang and give the donats. She make
this kind of business because she think this is the only occupation that she could as an old woman, right now and still
want to live and fulfill she and her husband needs. Her age is 55 years old, and she becoming donat seller since 25
years ago, with his husband.
That is the example of Necessity-based, because the purpose of running the business is to fulfill their daily needs
without any dreams to make the business larger and famous than today.
Second, deShop Collection. It is located in Cisitu Lama Street 33, Bandung. The activity of this shop is selling updated
design of jacket, sweater, blazer, hijab, and many more dress for girls to Bandungs people or becoming the supplier
of many fashion shop in Bandung. His name is Mr.Dziky and I did my interview with him. Mr. Dziky and his company
do not make their own product, but they just search updated design of dress using Google and then he give the
design to a convection company near Bandung, after that he takes it and sell to customers. This shop also make
online shop, the addres is Grosir Baju Murah Bandung, try to search it on Facebook . At the very first time they
want to make kind of this business is because Mr.Dziky want if he were married, he dont want if his wife work out,
so when he married with his wife, he try to build a business in July 2012 that everyone have to buy, that is fashion
(dress or skirt). After that, he want to expand his business by making online shop. Now, deShop can be seen by
everyone in the world, and Indonesian people from Sabang to Merauke can buy updated dress from this shop easily.
This shop also can be the supplier of reseller and or dropshipper. Tomorrow, Mr.Dziky dreams are he want to make
his own convection company, so that he dont need to go to peoples convection company. Next, he hope he can
build new same concept shop in Garut this year.
The second interview is the example of Opportunity based, because the owner want to expand his business so that it
will becoming bigger, larger, and well-known.
Differences
DONAT SALMAN DeSHOP COLLECTION
- Act as reseller, because they takes the
product from another company and they
just sell it.
- Act as producer and seller, because they
find the ideas of making the design for
the product and then they sell it.
- Just a little bit challenge, like in one day
they have to sell 10 boxes of donut.
- So much challenges, like they have to
compete with another ol-shop, always
update about fashion, makes more
innovation, etc.
- Simple business - Challenging business
- No desire to expand the business - Having many wishes to expand the
business

What I think about these two business is the difference of spirit, it can be influenced by the difference of
ages between Mrs. Rusmini and Mr.Dziky, and different kind of needs in their life. When Mrs.Rusmini will always
thankful and satisfied if the donat are sold out and she can fulfill her daily needs without having no desire to make it
better, Mr.Dziky wants more than what Mr.Rusminin do. He want his shop expand, better, profitable, and best.
