I) SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This position holds responsibility for monitoring the high quality and effective delivery of infrastructural support projects to assist the survivors of typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan according to recognized national and international standards.
Reporting directly to IRs Field Engineer-DEC-II Project, Project Assistant (Construction) will be responsible for the periodic monitoring of the quality of workmanship of the infrastructure. He/She will provide necessary guidance to the skilled and unskilled labors and also maintains the attendance sheet of the labors. He/She will provide assistance to community mobilisers in the conduct of selection process, in the construction site selection as well as in the the layout continuation.
He/she will also be responsible for representing the organization to beneficiaries for grass root level infrastructural technical support including: governmental authorities, UN agency, peer organizations, national NGOs and private sector staff.

III) MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize and facilitate meetings with target communities to inform about the quality of construction and materials. Provide guidance to household by involving them in the construction monitoring. Conduct/assist in assessments and data collection for infrastructural interventions. Communicate feedback from household/communities regarding the infrastructural work and other key stakeholders and share with supervisor/ Program Coordinator. Monitor progress and ensuring quality control of construction and material used according to IR quality standards and project objectives Supervise skilled and unskilled laborers and maintain their attendance sheet. Ensure construction site finalization and assist in the layout of work. Work according to detailed implementation plans as directed by the Program Coordinator; Any other assignment given by supervisor/program coordinator.
IV) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Practical knowledge of Civil/Construction/Material/Architecture is essential (carpentry, masonry and related skills)
V) LANGUAGE
Fluency in Filipino is essential. Fluency in Cebuano is preferred.
VI) IT SKILLS
Good IT skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel is essential.
