1. Explain the basic aspects of legal system in Malaysia(LO1-CT4-K4);
2. Apply the basic knowledge of the legal system in their future undertaking especially career (LO3-PS3-P5);
3. Instil certain required soft skills i.e. communication, critical thinking, leadership and teamwork through various learning exercise and activities (LO5-TS4-A5).
10 Transferable skills
Students should be able to develop good written and interpersonal communication, team work and leadership, problem solving through a process of lectures and tutorials. 11 Teaching-Learning and Assessment Strategy
Teaching-learning strategy: The course will be taught through a combination of formal lectures, exercises, group work, using authentic materials, informal activities and various references. Practical experience and collaborative teamwork will be fostered throughout the course. The use of examination and internal reporting assessment will assess the students ability to apply theoretical concepts in context.
This course comprises the study on historical development of law in Malaysia, the sources of laws and their hierarchy as well as application in our legal system context. Besides focusing on the federal constitution, judicial system and available legal service are also covered.
