Assalamulaikum..

and a very good morning to the honourable panel of judges, respected

timekeeper, teachers and all my fellow friends.
TodayI would like to say a few words about WAT !A"#$ A A%%& 'I(#)
According to an #astern tale, a king who failed to find happiness .sought the advice
of his courtiers. The wise ones advised him to wear the shirt of a very happy man.
$o.the king*s soldiers were sent all over the country to fetch a very happy man*s shirt.
Though the soldiers met many people who had shirtsnone of these people were
happy. This story concludes thatfinally..when they managed to find a happy man, it
turned out that he had no shirt at all. This tale..of course..is not meant to be taken
literally, yet the sagacity it implies is significant.
'adies and +entlemenIt*s hard to decide what makes a happy life.for we cannot
agree on a definition of happiness that is acceptable to all. ,ne man*s idea of a happy
life will be entirely different from the other. The attempt to decide what a happy life is,
reminds me of the five blind men who tried to find the shape of an elephant.
The truth is that, as beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, happiness is a state of the
mind which depends entirely on the individual concerned. ,ne man may find certain
conditions conducive to a happy life.while the same conditions may fail to make the
other man happy. What is the difference and where does the difference lies)
All the anwers are surely come from deep of our very soulbelieve it or not.
As for me.happiness comes from within. What defines it is uni-ue to every person,
but I.m happy when I can look at myself in the mirror..and know that I.ve tried my
hardest and done my best on any given dayespecially today. It*s true that I have to
take part in this competition because of my teacher wants me to represent my own
school..butthe other of part of me telling that it*s good to gain an e/perince being
in front of the audienceon this stage.. as this will improve my confindence level.
That is what we called positive attitude and it helps me to cope more easily with the
daily affairs of life. %ositive attitude brings optimism into our life, and makes it easier to
avoid worry and negative thinking. If we adopt it as a way of life, it will bring
constructive changes into our lives., and makes them happier, brighter and more
successful. As the saying goes When one door of happiness closes, another one
opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has
been opened to us.
$o I believe that with a positive attitude we can see the bright side of life.,
become optimistic. And e/pect the best to happen. It is certainly a state of mind
that is well worth developing and strengthening.
'adies and gentlementother than thinking positively, some said that we have to be
grateful of what we have in order to gain happiness.
0e who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don.t matter and those
who matter don.t mind.
Thus..we must not compare ourselves to the other people ..whether in school,
at work or in our personal life. In the first place, no one knows what are the other
people going through..and more importantly, when we compare ourselves to the other
people, we always tend to see ourselves on the 1short end1. $o this is never a good or
helpful thing for us to do.
!y fellow friendsanother way to gain happiness for me is laughter .as it is the best
medicine in the world. 'augh shows that we are happy. I always thinking that the most
wasted of all days is one without laughter. 2egardless what kind of problem that are
facing everyday, take time to laugh at ourselves and the situations we find ourselves in.
'aughter is a powerful, positive medicine and the calmer and more peaceful you
can take things,. the happier your life will be. $o..3arry laughter with you wherever
you go.
'adies and gentlement, besides all the ways mentioned earlier.and when we try to
find out what materials, conditions and pleasures can create the feelings that results in
happiness, we will be forced to admit that there can be no common standard to decide
this. $ome may consider wealth as the first place, while many other might disagree.
+ranted wealth is one of the conditions for happinessbut we*ll find it difficult to
answer on how much of it needed to make a happy life.
Wisdom lies in choosing a sensible stand between the two. It is a cowardice to
run away from life and live like hermit. ,ne should take life easily and at a leisurely
stride.
$uch an attitude may enable one to achieve a certain measure of happiness4 all
that is needed is that mental capacity to feel contented with one*s lot in life, whatever it
might be. I am -uite certain that nothing can make your life happy unless you know to
fell happy.
As a saying goes5 When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you
have a thousand reasons to smile.
'astly, I sincerely hope that each and all of you who are present here today, including
myselfwill find eternal happiness and will live a in a happy and peaceful life.
Thank you.
