Following the discussi ons by the TC 31fWG 22 Task Group addressing thlit rlitpliiiatability of the
thermal endurance to heat and thermal efldurance to oold tests it was proposed t hat a
tolerance be clarified for the test periods in Editi on 6, 31IT44iDC was i ssued and comments
recei ved and resolved as 31/752A1IINF.
These i flterpretations are made ava i lable for editi 0 fl 5 of this sta fldard due to thliii cu rrent use
of that standard by manufacturers, conformity assliiissment schliiimliiis and nati onal bodiliiis by
means of this "I nterpretati on Sh Iiii liiit" as fol lows:

Que,ation: As it is unrliiiasoflable to consider them to be the exact test time, are the time
f rames for thliii 24 h, 336 h (2 wliiieks) or 672 h (4 weeks) tests considliiirliiid to be the minimum
timliiis? If so, what i s t hliii maxi mum t ime?
Interpretation: The 24 h, 336 hand 672 h values are, considered the minimum flumber of
hours for eac h of the tests .. It is practical I hat t he I i m Iiii' periods should not extliiind beyon d 24 ..
