ii. Abstract
The significance of a study on computer addiction is that the results of the study can teach professionals how to treat students for the addiction. It can also help explain why the addiction occurs. Computer is more significant because we can use it in every type of communications, advertisement, entertainment, earning & project working etc at a fix place all over the world. It has been alleged that social pathologies are beginning to surface in cyberspace. To date, there is very little empirical evidence that computing activities (i.e., internet use, hacking, and programming) are addictive. Anecdotal evidence indicates that the typical "addict" is a student, usually teenagers, with little or no social life, and little or no self- confidence. This research paper concentrates on studies of excessive computer usage. It is argued that, some of those students describe "addicted" subjects. Addiction components criteria were used in the assessment. The excessive usage in the majority of cases was purely symptomatic and was highlighted how the subjects used the Internet/computer to counteract other deficiencies. It is a newly recognized problem. While controversy exists about whether computer addiction should be considered a primary psychiatric disorder, clinicians are treating increasing numbers of clients experiencing problems caused by excessive computer use.

Introduction
How computer addiction does affect the knowledge of computer engineering students about computers? Does it have disadvantages or advantages? Well, in this study, we have to know if it has benefits for a computer engineering students. We all know the computer addiction has disadvantages for us students. It steals the hour for our studies. But is it about the disadvantage of being computer addict? How about the students studying about the computer? Does this problem affect them? Lets all know.
Background of the study
Various factors may contribute to making a person a computer addict. It is mainly caused by the desire to distract oneself from unpleasant feelings like depression, loneliness and anxiety. For example, one may feel loneliness in their real life, and they may start excessively using online chatting or gaming as an outlet to try to temporarily handle their loneliness. If a Computer Addict excessively watches Internet pornography or uses adult fantasy role-play websites, the cause may be that they may have relationship problems in real life or they may have been sexually abused during their childhood. If a person lacks social support in real life, or if a person suddenly becomes less mobile due to a new disability or responsibility that makes them hard to leave home to socialize with their friends, they may use online social networking websites as a way to establish social connections and relationships. Symptoms of Computer Addiction Symptoms of Computer Addiction vary from person to person but some of them are more common among computer addicts. A computer addict may lose their sense of time, may spend many hours on a computer at a time and feel irritated when interrupted from it. They may fail to finish off their tasks at home or work. They may give more importance to virtual online friends and withdraw from real life friends and family. If a computer addict spends more and more time on gaming, they may give more importance to events within a game than real life events. Consequences of Computer Addiction If one spends too much time sitting on a computer, they spend less time on healthy social activities as a consequence. They may get isolated from the real world and from physical interaction with friends, which may cause a severe feeling of loneliness and depression in them. As they get less time to do their tasks at school, home or work, their performance may deteriorate which may create stress in their life. In the long run, Computer Addition may cause pain and numbness in hands, wrists and arms if they repeatedly use the keyboard for too long. This risk may be reduced by taking frequent short breaks every hour while using a computer, by not placing wrists on sharp table edges, and by adjusting the height of the chair and the keyboard tray so that the wrists remain straight. Computer addiction may also cause strained vision, headaches, back and neck aches, and a gain or loss in weight.
Conclusions As base on the research, several computer engineering students have their own knowledge about computers. Come chose this course because they want to gather more information about computers and other students wants to learn more about computer. Since being a computer addict youll have the information about computer, some of the Computer Engineering students make their way on how to access computer easier and comfortable.
