IMEI Writing
1. Install USB driver.
The driver needs to be installed before using the USB cable.

1. Computer eject hardware installation instruction and choose following item and then clicknext step

2. Click browser and choose the driver saved path USB VCOM-Driver and then click confirm and
next step.










Open SN_Write_tool_exe_v2.1324.00
Connect software upgrading cable to the unit and PC, Choose Modem Database file and AP Database

Input IMEI into below dialogue bar, power on the unit and click OK, it begin to write IMEI number to the unit ,
When the two line show the same IMEI number, the IMEI has been successfully write into the unit. For the detail,
please refer to below picture.

Maui META
Maui META is a tool provided by MTK for many useful functions. For us FAE, the most frequently used functions are
IMEI download & update parameter.
How to connect to Maui META?
1. Plugin USB cable (or COM port cable) and run META

2. Check OptionsConnect Smart phone into META mode(Feature phone no need to check it)















3. ChooseUSB COM from the drop down menu (Choose COM port if using COM port cable)

4. Click Reconnect button and connect USB cable to the mobile phone unit. Some types of unit need to press and hold a
certain key when connect to USB cable. (If using COM port cable, connect the cable to the unit and then power on)


5. choose ActionOpen NVRAM database and browse to the correct database file



Now, the mobile phone unit has been connected to Maui META tool successfully.

IMEI Download:
1. Choose IMEI download from the function list



2. Input the front 14 digitals of the IMEI into the IMEI field, and the 15
th
digital will be auto generated. Do this also
to SIM2.


3. Click Download To Flash button.

Update Parameter:
Part1: Back up parameter:
1. ChooseUpdate parameter from the function list



2. Check all the items in the Download Parameter and click Upload from flash, and then click Save to file to
save the parameter as an ini file.

Part2: Restore parameter:
1. Choose Update parameter from the function list




2.ClickLoad from file and browse to the ini file. And then click Download to flash button.
