INTRO
The phenomenal growth of the incubators world over in last two decades, the concept the nurtures innovative ideas
requiring mentoring, infrastructure and resources into successful technology business, has benefited many countries.
This has also helped in utilizing technology as a means for their economic development.
TBI provide workspace with shared office facilities with emphasis on business and professional services necessary for
nurturing and supporting early stage growth of technology and technology based enterprises.
The National Institute of Technology Calicut has set up a Technology Business Incubator TBI-NITC with the support
of National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of
Science&Technology, Govt. of India, to incubate start up industries in the IT and electronics.

How to Join/selection
Join us if you have a viable project idea having high technology content preferably
in the IT or Electronics sector and which requires incubation facilities. Incubation
facilities will be provided for the initial 3 years at a concessional rate.

NITKSTEP(NIT KARNATKA science technology entrepreneurship park )

NITKSTEP (formerly KREC-STEP) was established on 31st August 1994 in KREC campus. It is situated
in an independent location in the complex of NITK about 23 K.M. from Mangalore city, adjacent to
N.H. 66 and adjoining the Arabian Sea beach. Out of 16500 sft. built up area, 8500 sft. consists of
Entrepreneurs Block and the remaining area comprises of computer laboratory, conference hall and
administrative block.
It is an entrepreneurial driven self sustaining body.

What innovations are eligible/selection:
o A novel/original idea on product/process/know how.
o The idea must result in the form of a tangible product/an improved process/methods
as compared with the existing competing products/processes/methods.
o Mere software code in a CD will not qualify for funding in this scheme. However
software driven products/processes/methods are acceptable.
o The innovation must lead to the commercialization of the
products/processes/methods.
o Merely carrying out innovation for the purpose of paper publication or research study
that may not lead to commercialization of the innovation will not qualify funding in this
scheme.
