Hello Everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween. First of all I
would like to thank all the parents for their wonderful support during the
Fall Carnival. Thank you to all of our volunteers and everyone who
participated and made it a great success. Well done to the AC board for
organizing and running it as well. We had lots of Halloween celebrations
in our school culminating with our frighteningly fantastic Halloween
parades!! All the children looked spookily spectacular in their
costumes....as did the staff!! I am sure Mr. Bennie will be putting up a
slideshow. Now Halloween is over Thanksgiving is coming up so the
classrooms and school will be putting up their Fall decorations and
completing lots of seasonal activities alongside the academic curriculum. I
understand this is a difficult time with the proposed fee rises but please
know we absolutely appreciate your continued help and support, so once
again thank you.

Transition I
By Mrs. Jenny Sixto
In November Trans 1 will be learning from the Sensational Senses curriculum. Without trying children endlessly
use their senses to explore there ever growing world. The topic of senses provides children with opportunities to
use their senses in ways that they may not have yet considered. We will learn all about our five senses and that
we all have different preferences and everyone has their own ways of sensing things. Each week we will explore
and learn all about a different sense, what fun it will be! In November we will also learn about Thanksgiving and
the different things we are thankful for. The class will be making themed crafts and have a thanksgiving party at
the end of the month. Trans will also be learning about the color Brown, the Triangle shape, numbers 5 and 6
and letters G H & I.
Transition II

thanksgiving art and our ABC book
Parent teacher conferences will be on Nov 4-8. I will put the signup sheet on the bulletin board. Please sign up
for the date and time that will be best for you. If none of the times will work with your schedule, please let
me know. We can reschedule it. Thank you.
We are looking forward to an exciting month.

Preschool I
November 2014
Hello Parents, we have had a speedy few months, I cant believe its already November. This month our main
focus will be studying Buildings. We will have the opportunity to learn about how buildings are constructed,
be able to use varying tools, and build something of our own. The holidays we will be celebrating this month will
be Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. The students will be learning a little bit about the Native American culture as
well! I cannot wait to see how much they will grow this month, as they are always surprising me and keeping me
on my toes.
Preschool II
Can you believe that we have been back to school for over two months now? Wow! Preschool two had a
wonderful month, with our field trips to the pumpkin patch, our Halloween parties and the learning we have
done this month! We dissected and carved a pumpkin, talked about skin as our unit for the month was Skin
covers everything. We went on a nature walk to look for tree skin as well! In handwriting, we spent the last
month perfecting Mat Man some and reviewing our colors.
Next month, we will be studying Buildings as our monthly unit as well as studying Thanksgiving. Our class pets
will continue to come home - they have had quite the adventure so far this year!
Pre Kindergarten I
We had a great month of October in Pre-K I! We not only celebrated Columbus Day with books, songs, and
crafts, but we also celebrated the many wonderful things about fall! We visited the pumpkin patch on our field
trip and celebrated Halloween as a class. In October, we learned about the letters U, V, L, K, and H, the sounds
the make, how to write them, and how to identify them. We also continued to master our numbers 1-10 through
counting, one-to-one correspondence, and writing them. We also learned two important sight words - "see" and
"and"! In November, we will learn all about building objects from our curriculum, High Reach Learning, and the
letters W, X, Y, and Z. Our class loves reading books, learning about dinosaurs, and singing our everyday songs.
We are looking forward to an equally excellent November!
Pre Kindergarten II
Our topic this month is Building. This is such a fantastic opportunity to introduce physics and engineering
concepts to the students. We have some fun activities planned for designing and building houses. For math we
are developing our understanding of data collection and graph construction. Stop by the classroom to see what
we have completed and ask your child to explain what the graph means.

Advisory Council
Dear families and staff,
Thank you to everyone who participated, invited their friends and neighbors, gave donations, and especially
those who gave their time to help out with the Fall Festival! It was so fun to see our little witches and super
heroes, dinosaurs and princesses celebrating together! Original Works was also another success.
With all these fundraisers, we are happy to report that we are using the funds to support staff to buy supplies for
classrooms, support staff through Holiday Cheer and Teacher Appreciation Week.
This month, we will hold our quarterly General Meeting on Wednesday, November 19th at 6:15 PM. Please plan
to attend. We will be voting on the mid-year tuition increase for January 1 as well as amendments to the
constitution. We will need 20% of the membership to be present to make the tuition vote valid. We will be
offering childcare for a limited number of children (sign-up sheets will be available on our board the week
before). If you are not able to attend this meeting please speak with a board member or let us know via email.
If you have any questions or you would like to help with any upcoming events, please feel free to contact us at
