THEME
The main theme for this course is Introduction of Petroleum Geology. Geologists are
also the key player in the success of oil and gas industry,so SPE have an intention to
accomodate the incorporation between petroleum and geology.
III.
PREFACE
Petroleum Geologists are the main person in first determining of oil drilling. Petroleum
Geologists are also the first person who decide where the sources of oil are, due to their
majority in analizing the presence of oil from the litology of the field and from other
aspects. Therefore, the SPE UGM SC have an intention to hold the course with the title
of Introduction of Petroleum Geology to socialize the petroleum geologist job to the
students and improve the knowledge particularly for geological engineering students
about oil industry.
The course will begin with basic concepts of Petroleum Geology and then the basic
principles of the job. The course materials are based on the instructors experiences,
personal collection of field cases and learning. The course is designed for beginners
who want to learn about Petroleum Geology.
IV.
PURPOSE
This course is aimed to:
1. Socialize about Petroleum Geology.
2. Introduce participant the main duty of Petroleum Geologist from case study.
V.
PARTICIPANT
The course is designed for students who study Geological Engineering. The course
also opens for students who want to learn about Petroleum Geology in general. The
amount of participants is expected to be 100 people.
