I.

GENERALITIES
1.1.

Object

The investment objective proposed for rehabilitation is situated in Romania, Satu

Mare county. This projects subject represents the modernizing of a part of the existing
earth road, from 3+310 to 3+614.
1.2.

Location

Romania, Satu Mare county, near Calinesti Oas, on road 109L.

1.3.

Owner

Satu Mare City Hall

1.4.

Beneficiary

Satu Mare City Hall

1.5.

Designer

S.C.DRUMB S.R.L, Satu Mare, 15th Stefan cel Mare Street.

1.6.

Design stage

The road will belong to the technological class III, hill zone. Its length will be of
304km, starting from point A with known benchmark of 554m, ending point B at
556m.

II. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

2.1.

Works general presentation

a) Location
This road is a part of a the 109L Road, at the outskirts of Calinesti Oas, Satu
Mare county, Romania.

b) Topography
The point A belongs to the 109L Road, having the known altitude of 554m. The
road will be situated in a hill zone.

c) Climate
Satu Mare has a continental climate, characterised by hot dry summers and
cold winters. As the city is in the far north of the country, winter is much more
colder than the national average, with an average temperature of 17 C . The
average annual temperature is 9.6 C , or broken down by seasons: Spring 10.2
C , Summer 19.6 C, Autumn 10.8 C and Winter 1.7 C . Atmospheric humidity
is quite high. Prevailing wind currents blow in from the northwest, bringing spring
and summer rainfall. Climate in this area has mild differences between highs and
lows, and there is adequate rainfall year round. The Kppen Climate
Classification subtype for this climate is "Cfb" (Marine West Coast
Climate/Oceanic climate).
The ground water is not aggressive.

d) Geology, seismicity
Geologically, the area is made of layers of soils, created from deposits of sand,
loess and gravel, and generally have a thickness of 16 metres 18 metres. Over
this base, decaying vegetation gave rise to podsolic soils.
According to the P100-2013 norm, it is situated in the zone 2 having the ground
acceleration 0.15g, control period Tc=0.7s.
The freezing depth according to STAS 6054/77 is 90cm.

e) Project presentation
1.calculations and constructive measures
2.drawings

f) Utilities deviation and protection

To execute the road there is no necessity in utility deviation and protection.

g) Utilities sources (water, energy, gas, phone etc.)

Water, energy, gas and phone sources either permanent or transitory needed for
the construction process will be provided by the contractor as part of worksite
planning.

Water will be transported in storage tanks to the site.

Energy needed to power equipment is provided by fossil-fuel generator.

h) Permanent access ways

Access to the site is done from 109L.

i) Setting out
The road structure will be traced by a subcontractor, according to coordinates.

j) List of quantities
The quantities of materials needed for the road system are calculated below, but
the rest of the materials will be carried out on the site.

2.2.

Design statement - ROAD

Horizontal alignment
The road is designed for a length of 304m, having one circular curve starting at 89 m
from point A.

Vertical alignment
On the vertical alignment, the road has a 1.116% gradient, designed with a vertical
curve at 3+466, having the input slope of 0.126% and the output slope of
1.241%.The design step between two changes of gradient must be a minimum of 60
m.

Cross section
The transversal profile of the road consists in a carriageway with two lanes of 3.50m
and two shoulders of 0.50m. The road platform equals 8.00m.

Road structure
The road structure consists of the following layers:
1. Wear course of asphaltic concrete: BA16 - 4 cm.
2. Binding layer of asphaltic concrete: BAD25 - 6cm.

3. Base layer: Crushed Stone - 15cm.

4. Sub base layer: Ballast -30cm.

Water drainage
The water drainage is designed according to STAS 2916-87, evacuated to zones
without interest having a lower altitude, or to surface water collecting systems.
Water drainage is done with reinforced concrete ditches, with a triangular shape,
unprotected, with the minimum longitudinal slope of 0.4% and maximum longitudinal
slope of 4%.
Road safety
The geometric elements will be placed in such a way to ensure safe, comfortable
conditions for traffic.
Longitudinal and vertical signs will be placed according to the following norms: STAS
1848/7-85 for longitudinal and STAS 1848/1-86 for vertical.
Horizontal signs:
longitudinal : to delimit the drive area
transversal : stop signs, zebra crossings
