Colyford
Although technically a borough,
Colyford was granted a charter
by Edward I in 1341 due to its
accessibility to the River Axe
which allowed sea-going vessels
as far as Coly Bridge. Today it is a
picturesque village with a long
main street and beautiful character
thatched houses. Each year in
September on the Saturday closest
to Michaelmas Colyford holds its
annual medieval Goose Fair.
