currently recruiting parents as Guide By Your Side Parent

recruitment letter. We are hoping you might be able to
share this information with parents whom you think have a
unique insight on raising children who are deaf/hard of
hearing and could be beneficial in helping families with
newly diagnosed children. Please also share this
Information with anyone else at Soundbridge that has direct
contact with parents.
If you have any questions, please contact Tammy Breard,
Guide By Your Side Coordinator

Early Learning Center

ELC Parents: The State of Connecticut requires that all children
attending preschool receive a flu shot by December 31, 2014 . All
students attending the ELC must have this done in order to remain at
Soundbridge.

Wethersfield High School

Our fifth year student has completed her first internship with CREC Transitions
Services, where she learned many secretarial tasks, including copying, filing and
even making a power point. She got paid for her work and is using some of her
pay to buy groceries for making her own healthy lunches at Soundbridge. With the
assistance of her job coach , she obtained a copy of her birth certificate and
a Connecticut ID card from DMV. After researching a variety of banks with her
teacher, she opened a checking account and has used her own debit card for
purchases. She has started her second job shadow at TJ Maxx where she will learn
about jobs in retail. Each afternoon she returns to Soundbridge where she works
with teachers on Language and Math concepts she will need for independent
living.

Academy of Aerospace & Engineering

Two weeks ago, students at AAE participated in a community-building Pumpkin
Extravaganza! Teachers blended goals from each student to create a morning of
fun for the students. The students sequenced steps to carving a pumpkin, voted
on the pumpkins emotions, estimated and graphed the number of seeds, and used
vocabulary targets to describe the experience!

We are still in need of a Co-President and a Secretary for

this year. If you are interested please contact
