4 London
London life
Were based in New Cross,
a vibrant, urban and creative
area in South East London
just 10 minutes by train from
central London. Theres a
strong campus feel to life
at Goldsmiths. We have all
our facilities together on
one site, making it an ideal
low-cost base for exploring
and enjoying London.
London is an amazing place to be a student and
has been voted one of the top student cities in the
world. We have world-famous galleries, museums,
theatres, festivals, shops, markets and parks for
you to explore many of them for free. Come to
Goldsmiths and enjoy living the true London life.
Choosing to study in London will also improve
your career prospects. Youll have the centre
of business and creative industries on your
doorstep, meaning plenty of opportunities
for work placements during your studies.
Student insight
April, USA
I knew I wanted to be in London,
but I was clueless as to where.
Goldsmiths ended up being the
perfect location. New Cross has
a beat of its own. With university
activities and events in the local
area, plenty of things go down in
New Cross to keep you entertained.
It is far enough to escape the bustle
of central London, but close enough
to be a part of it when you want to.
London
is a fantastic city,
with so much to do,
to see, with easy access
to any part of the UK.
My favourite city
in the world.

Adil, India
To be in London is a dream
come true for me. Being from
a nondescript village in West
Bengal in India, a Masters degree
from the University of London is
the best thing that can happen
to me. I have been a Right To
Information (RTI) activist in
India and was always interested in
issues pertaining to development
and rights.
My internship with Manthan
Yuva Sansthan, an NGO working
in the Maoist affected areas of
Jharkhand (India) where I worked
on the implementation of the
revolutionary Right to Education
Act and Forest Rights Act made
me question the discourse
on development.
I wanted to critically review
the present economic growth
of India vis--vis the idea of
inclusive development.
