    PsotahasspentmostofhislifeontheEasternShore,graduatingfromSalisburyUniversitywithadegreeinpoliticalsciencebeforejoiningthepolice
    academyin1987andspending25andahalfyearswiththeMarylandStatePolice.
    Ivealwaysbeeninterestedinlocal(and)stategovernment,howeveritwastheMarylandStatePolicethatgotmefirst,ifyouwill,Psotasaid.But
    whatIactuallywantedtodouponleavingcollegeImfinallygettingthechancetodo,andIbelievemyexperienceinthepoliceforceuniquely
    qualifiedandpreparedmeforthisposition.
    FruitlandprovidedPsotathatopportunity,andashewasapproachingretirementfromMSP,thepositionforcitymanagerbecamevacant.
    Iwantedtocontinueacareerinpublicservice,andthispositionprovidedmethatopportunity,Psotasaid.WithFruitlandscurrentpositionfor
    growth,Imveryexcitedtobeapartofit.
    PsotafacilitatesandassiststheCityCouncilincarryingouttheirvisionforFruitland,andhandlesthedaytodayoperationsofthecity.Hesaidwhile
    everydayisanewchallenge,hesexcitedtomeetthatchallenge.
    CityCouncilPresidentLeeOutensaidinseekinganewcitymanager,thecouncilwantedsomeonecommittedtostayinginthecommunitywho
    sharessimilarviewswiththemintermsofeconomicdevelopment,andisastrongleaderwhoisabletomanage.
    Mr.Psotareallystoodout(amongotherapplicants),andafterthediscussionwehadwithhimitwasreallyanobrainer,Outensaid.Hesaw
    FruitlandasoneofthestrongholdsofEasternShoreculturebuthealsorecognizedourowngoalthataswegrowwedontlosetheflavorofa
    smalltown.
