Commented [EE1]: I like how you included voiceovers

from various experts on the media. It really gives it a
legitimate documentary feel. It also makes me feel like
Im going to learn something from the experts in the

Rationale for the Type of Film

I thought it was best to do a documentary because of the seriousness of the issue with illegal
drugs and the representation of those substances and explicit content in media.

Commented [EE2]: I think you should come up with a

catchy title. The Truth about the Representation of
Drugs in Media isnt going to sell tickets. Something
like Marijuana Media Madness or PCP Publishing
or something much better than that. (Tyler)
Commented [EE3]: As I watched the trailer I wasnt
exactly sure where some of the clips were from. To
someone who doesnt watch much T.V., maybe at the
shows title as the clip comes on so as a viewer we can
reference it. (Justin H)
Commented [EE4]: I saw shows and clips from films
like: Cheech and Chong, Weeds, Breaking Bad, Harold
and Kumar, pineapple express; you know, the usual
stoner/druggie movies. Is there any movies or tv
shows that would shock someone if it made references
to illicit drugs. (Jake)
Commented [EE5]: Is your project the misinterpretation
of marijuana in the media? or of the broad drug topic?
or is it just media influence on the American people.
You might need to clarify because in your research
paper I thought your topic was the interpretation of
drugs by the media. Your first clip kind of reaches
outside the realm of illicit drugs and touches up on
media violence and other conflicts. (Jake)

Film Outline
My film will include a combination of video clips from media including substance and alcohol use
along with bits and pieces of video clips of interviews with experts discussing the impact that
explicit media has on individuals. Additionally, facts on the relation between media
consumption and the effect that it has on humans will be included. The purpose of this film is to
address why programming involving the use of illegal substances and explicit content has
become so popular in the last few years.

Commented [EE6]: I think the title and info sheet dont

exactly match up well with the video clips and images.
Much of the trailer is about sex in media and that
wasnt mentioned. You could adjust your title and info
sheet to reflect the trailer more. (Justin H)
Commented [EE7]: I like how you start with the facts
and then move into the modern Movie/TV show
examples. If you would have just played the Movie clips
than the video would not have been as effective. (Jake)
Commented [EE8]: I think thats a real smooth movie,
or smovie, if you will. I like the way you incorporated a
variety of source materials. The dramatic film trailer
music throughout really tied together the feel too.
(Tyler)
Commented [EE9]: I think you provided good modern
examples of exactly how drug use is portrayed by
modern media. You used great examples with a
mixture of TV clips and narrations. Overall its a very
strong draft. (Justin H)
Commented [EE10]: When you fade out the
documentary voice over, it is hard to comprehend what
the speaker is saying. (Jake)
Commented [EE11]: The audio clip was hard to hear. I
would suggests adjusting volume levels to make sure
the viewer can hear the narrations over the music and
other background noise. (Justin H)
Commented [EE12]: I believe that the images and
video clips used in this trailer are very exciting and
would catch a potential viewers attention quickly.
Stoners, guys, lesbians, and those interested in medias
effects on people would be inclined to view it. (Justin H)
Commented [EE13]: I think you should remove some
of that graphic almost-nudity. My virgin eyes have been
ruined forever. Youre to blame. (Tyler)
Commented [EE14]: On your info sheet, I think you
should change up your works cited section. I think you
should try and use MLA or APA citations. It just adds to
the quality of the document, and Ashlyn probably wants
that anyway. (Tyler)
