Candidates are required to complete one 30 hour
design, make and evaluate task.
The task is divided into two sections. Section A is
concerned with designing the product and Sec-tion B is
concerned with planning, making and evaluating the
product.
The task is time limited and teachers are required to
monitor and verify this time limit.
Candidates will not gain additional credit by
exceeding the time limit.

Section A of the task should be completed in about 10

hours supervised time.

All graphical and written work entered for this

controlled assessment must be submitted on the
pre-printed pages provided.

Section A must not exceed the 11 A3 pages

My competitors product is a well-made design that includes all the right objectives to be
eye-catching and perfect for marketing a book. Its a well-made and planned design to
create a unique icon for the book cover itself, to make it into a good advertisement target
for all the requirements. The designs this book has seemed to have been considered with
the needs of what their audience would have wanted, what would have brought a bigger
audience. It is mostly their design and artwork that made the marketing very successful.

Promotion should be one of the main factors that give the book attention. The more people there are in the target audience of the
book, the better. That means it has to be an eye-catching and attractive to most of the people and should be all-friendly.

Information
The design should cover all the information required to be in it. This means that the design should not be confusing, friendly to
most target audiences in terms of reading and understanding what the main selling is all about.

Convenience
The designed item should be conveniently used and displayed. The item should either stand out or be conveniently used but
should not restrict any types of factors for other designs or sorts of usage.

Materials
The design should be used with recyclable and environment-neutral material. It shouldnt be made with design that doesnt fit it
and should hold the design safely in place, should meet the requirements of durableness of the designed item.

The design has to be of decent colours that fit the main idea of the book. It should have the right images and the cover should be FULLY
recyclable.

what the book is about. The whole setting in the books design is to draw
