Post Questionnaire Graphs

Question 1

This graph shows how there was an equal

amount of males and females who
completed our survey. This was beneficial
as it meant we were able to receive a
range of results from both genders.

Question 2

For question 2 we wanted to find out the

age of the individual taking the
questionnaire. Our target audience was
15-35 year olds; however, the majority of
our respondents were between the ages
of 15 and 20 (70%).

Question 3

For this question I asked the respondent

what genre they thought Big Boy fits into
to see if we had successfully followed and
incorporated the codes and conventions
of a comedy film. All participants thought
it fits into the comedy genre which
suggests we had successfully followed the
codes and conventions, therefore allowing
the audience to identify the genre.

Question 4

I wanted to find out how well our

audience thought we portrayed the genre.
In response to this question we
successfully found that no respondents
thought that we portrayed the genre
poorly. However, 40% did respond with
Fairly well compared to Very well,
suggesting that we could have made
improvements to portray the genre more
clearly.

Question 5
When carrying out the pre questionnaire I
found that most respondents (70%)
thought our short film should be rated 15.
To see if we made the right choice I chose
to include a question in the post
questionnaire to find out whether our
audience thought the certification of 15
was appropriate for our film. Successfully,
we found that the majority (80%) thought
it was appropriate and only two
respondents thought it was inappropriate.
Due to this overall response I believe we
did choose the correct certification for Big
Boy.
Question 6

The next question I chose to ask was

about whether the respondent thinks the
title Big Boy was suitable for our short
film. In my pre questionnaire I presented 5
different film title names and overall the
most popular film title was Big Boy which
is what we decided to call our short film.
Victoriously, from the post questionnaire
90% of our respondents agreed that the
title we chose was suitable for our short
film.

Question 7

I also asked the respondents if they

thought the narrative was easy to follow
and successfully found that 100% said yes.
This suggests that our narrative was
coherent and captured the audiences
attention.

Question 8

I chose to include this question to find out

what the audience thought the strongest
component of our short film was. From
the responses, I found that the audience
thought the actors and camerawork were
the best components of the film.

Question 9

I also wanted to find out what the

audience thought the weakest component
of our short film was and from the results
we found that the results were divided
equally between all 5 options with 20%
each. As a group we were slightly shocked
with this result as we expected one or two
specific components to be considered the
weakest.

Question 10

All 100% of respondents agreed that they

thought the fonts used for the titles and
credits were clear and readable. I believe
this was due to them being presented in a
bold white font against a black
background which made them stand out
to the audience.

Question 11

I then wanted to find out if the audience

felt that they were given enough time to
read the titles and credits when they were
displayed on screen. I found that 100% of
respondents believed it was a sufficient
amount of time.

Question 12

Another question I asked was whether the

audience thought the sound effects and
music used in the short film were
effective. I found that 100% of
respondents found that it was effective
which was satisfying as sound was
something we wanted to ensure would
provide humour and portray the comedy
genre of our film.

Question 13

As our chosen genre was a comedy film I

wanted to find out if we had successfully
managed to make the film humorous in
any way to the audience. By including this
question I found that the majority (90%)
of respondents did find it humorous at
some point which suggests we had
successfully followed the conventions of
the comedy genre.

Question 14

The results of this question show that 80%

of respondents believed our tagline for
our production Big Boy was suitable. This
was a very positive response as we had
thought very hard about what we wanted
our tagline to be and this response
suggests the audience were able to
successfully make a link between the film
title and tagline.

Question 15

Finally, I wanted to find out how satisfied

our audience were with the quality of our
production and successfully, 100% of
respondents said they were satisfied. This
was a positive response as it suggests we
have created a short film which is
humorous and entertaining which was
one of our main goals.
