exchange. Currently working in 113 countries including Pakistan, it aims
to provide young people with leadership opportunities to develop
themselves into global leaders with an urge to make a difference in
society. Along with its leadership development programs, AIESEC also
runs an international exchange program that enables over 20,000
students and recent graduates the opportunity to live and intern in
another country. AIESEC is supported by over 8,000 partner
organizations around the globe. As of June 2014, the AIESEC network
includes over 90,000 members.
Change in progress 2.0 is the name of AIESEC in Islamabads project
launched in 2013 with the aim of empowering youth of Pakistan to bring
a positive change in society. The project is based upon an array of
multifaceted components, which include awareness campaigns,
reintegration of children from the underprivileged areas of our society,
focusing mainly on people belonging from the slums and streets of the
capital. This project also entails fundraising for partnered NGOs. The
importance of this project is evident since it will act as a catalyst
enforcing change in the dysfunctional aspects of our society. By
providing opportunity to the youth of our nation and instilling within them
national pride as they create an impact in society, ultimately their
subconscious will not only change their perception of their society but
also foreign minds abroad.
As Pakistanis will realize the fault is not in our stars but within ourselves,
once this has been acknowledged the sky is the limit for this project as
the possibilities that prevail it our endless. As AIESEC, provide us with
the opportunity to come about this realization in a manner which benefits
not only the individual but the community as well because the sheer
force of this projects impact is social, national and global.
