About three years ago, we both had a history teacher who made Andrew Jackson very

appealing to us. We quickly became interested in his life after hearing of his persistence and
strong-willed nature towards political problems. She told us of his great leadership as a general
before his presidency and the countless duels he proudly fought. We both gained a greater
understanding of Andrew Jacksons role in shaping the United States from our other teachers in
previous years as well, and we found that Andrew Jackson would be a very suitable and
appropriate focus for us due to his contentious and influential presidency.
Initially, we began our research by going to our school library. We started searching for
information of Andrew Jacksons leadership qualities and political feats in particular. We soon
found a useful text that provided us with Andrew Jacksons actual message towards Congress of
his veto of the Maysville Road Bill and had it printed for future usage. We then conducted our
research with the school librarys computers. Also, the two of us gathered and used personal
computers, gaining the majority of the information from these meetings. Eventually, we created a
timeline of significant events which occurred previous to, during, and as a result of Andrew
Jacksons presidency to aid us in understanding his importance to the country.
We decided to benefit from our proficiency in creativity and familiarity of computers to
choose to construct a website using the research gained about Andrew Jackson. First, we
arranged our key components in chronological order in the way that we wanted to display on our
website. We selected essential text and quotes from Andrew Jackson, which demonstrated his
leadership qualities and his legacy that is seen throughout history. Next, we chose proper pictures
and videos that we believe illustrate information displayed on the website. Lastly, we reviewed
and revised the website until our expectations were met.

Andrew Jacksons achievements in history demonstrate the impact and legacy that he has
left behind. He has proven to have been a remarkable leader, beginning when he was a
courageous general who, after a short time, became a national war hero. He became very popular
with the common people and before long, Jackson was running for president. Originally, he won
the popular vote but lost when it went to the House of Representatives. Four years later, he
overcame his failure and defeated Martin Van Buren in the election of 1828. Throughout the
years of his presidency, Andrew Jackson proved to be a controversial, yet influential president.
Through his many significant actions in political office, including the bank war, his important
vetoes, handling of the nullification crisis, and the Indian Removal Act, he has become a debated
and celebrated American political leader.
