BETH
Whats that on your hand?
MACK
Where?
BETH
That red mark.
MACK
Oh that, I caught it when I was
opening the door, nothing serious.
SCENE 3. INT. KITCHEN. SPACE STATION.
The kitchen area is bright, large and futuristic looking. A
large metal table is in the middle of the room. Bo, Chinese,
36, is sitting next to Victor, Russian, 42, at the table.
Amy, American, 34, is reading from a tablet device. Mack and
Beth walk through the door.
MACK
Bed time, guys.
BO
Already?
MACK
Yep, you need your shut eye. You
too, Amy.
Amy salutes mockingly.
AMY
Yes, sir.
Victor nods towards Beth.
VICTOR
So you found her then.
BETH
Its not like I can get too far,
Victor.
The others laugh. Victor scowls.
VICTOR
Well, dont come running to me when
things start to go wrong.

BETH
What do you mean?
VICTOR
Im just saying, havent you ever
wondered why this place was shut
for 10 years before we came along?
(Whispering) There could be
anything here.
AMY
You and your stupid theories and
horror stories. Were here to get
the ship running for more people to
use it.
BO
And to eat delicious food.

AMY
Mack, whats with these marks on
your neck?
MACK
What? Oh...nothing. Probably a
shaving accident.
Victor gives Mack a look, as if not believing him.
BO
I can see it. Looks like a two man
job to meld the metal back
together.
VICTOR
Ill do it. I havent been out for
a while. Amy? You want to join me?
AMY
I went yesterday.
MACK
You want to go, Beth? You havent
done a walk yet. Might do you good
to get outside.
Beth looks up from her breakfast, startled.
BETH
Yeah. (Pause) Okay.
SCENE 6. EXT. SPACE.
Beth and Victor are in astronaut suits floating outside the
station. They are linked together by a wire. They hold onto
the side of the ship. Beth is breathing heavily.
VICTOR
You okay, Beth?
BETH
Im good. (Pause) Im good.
Just...need a minute.
VICTOR
Take some deep breaths. This
happened to me on my first walk.
BETH
How long ago was that?

VICTOR
A while. This is my 48th walk so
youre in safe hands. Come on, Ive
found it.
Beth travels slowly to where Victor is stationed. There is a
large slash along the side of the station, as if sliced
open. The metal looks burnt at the edges.
BETH
That doesnt look like rock debris.
VICTOR
Exactly what I was thinking.
SCENE 7. INT. SPACE STATION.
Beth and Victor make it back to the ship and take off their
suits.
BETH
What do you think it was?
VICTOR
I really dont know. After all the
walks Ive done, thats the first
time Ive ever seen anything like
that.
BETH
That doesnt do anything to calm my
nerves.
VICTOR
Can I ask you something?
BETH
Of course.
VICTOR
Do you think Mack is
acting...differently lately?
BETH
I...
The speakers sound in the room.
AMY
You two decent?

VICTOR
(Sighing) Yeah, were good.
The door opens and white smoke fills the room, disinfecting
them. It clears and Amy is on the other side of the door.
AMY
Well? What did it then?
(Sarcastically) Aliens?
SCENE 8. INT. KITCHEN. SPACE STATION.
The team sit around the table all lost in thought.
MACK
So you dont know what made the
tear?
VICTOR
No. Ive never seen anything like
it.
MACK
But its definitely fixed?
VICTOR
Yes, how many times. Its as good
as new.
Mack leans back in his chair and sighs. Running his hands
through his hair.
BO
I thought we had CCTV around the
ship? Can we not check that and see
what did it?
MACK
The CCTV only shows the inside in
some sections. It doesnt show the
outside.
AMY
Whose stupid idea was that?
BETH
The tear looked like the metal was
sliced and burnt at the edges. Like
it had been done on purpose.

BO
But thats impossible. No one can
do that from the outside. We
wouldve known if something had
been on the ship besides us.
BETH
Maybe Victor was right...about the
people before us.
There is silence. A light flickers above them and goes out.
AMY
And now the electricity is running
out, excellent.
More lights go out. Mack stands and heads over to the
computer.
MACK
Section 30 is down.
VICTOR
What do you mean down? Its just
been fixed.
SCENE 9. INT. KITCHEN. SPACE STATION.
The whole room suddenly descends into darkness.
BETH
Whats happening.
MACK
Its okay. Just a malfunction. The
backing light should kick in.
BO
Its not kicking in...
MACK
Give it a minute!
AMY
Theres glow sticks in one of the
cupboards for emergencys.
VICTOR
Ill get them.

AMY
Ow, Vic that was my foot.
There is a banging of cupboards as Victor lights a bright
green glow stick.
VICTOR
They last for hours so we should be
fine. And theres these.
The others stand and grab a glow stick and light them. Their
faces are bathed in red, blue and green. Victor hands Beth
and the others old, dusty walkie talkies.
BO
What are these? Theyre ancient!
MACK
So we can keep in contact.
BO
Its like being back in the dark
ages.
VICTOR
What are we going to do then?
SCENE 10. INT. SPACE STATION.
They leave the kitchen and manually open the heavy door. It
shuts noisily behind them.
MACK
(Panicking) Amy, you and Bo should
head to the main engine. See if you
can get the electricity working.
BETH
And us?
Mack shudders and grabs his head.
AMY
Whats wrong?
MACK
Nothing! Just...get supplies
together. Food, water, oxygen,
anything you can.

MACK
What?
VICTOR
Youve been acting strange for
days.
MACK
(Shouting) What are you trying to
accuse me of here, Vic? Im not in
the mood for your stupid games or
theories.
Victor squares up to Mack.
VICTOR
What are those marks on your hand
and neck, Mack?
MACK
Its nothing. I just...havent been
looking after myself properly.
BETH
Theyre all over your arms too.
Mack grabs his head again.
VICTOR
I think you know what made the tear
in the ship. Youre in on this, you
know whats going on here.
MACK
Stop it...just stop.
Mack breathes heavily. He is sweating and shaking.
MACK
You have no idea what youre
dealing with.
AMY
Mack, what the hell is happening?
MACK
I cant tell you. I...cant
explain. Its mad at me...I messed
up. Itll kill me.

We need to get to the emergency
ship like you said. Have you ever
flown it?
BETH
Yeah. Once.
VICTOR
Good.
BETH
But it was simulated.
VICTOR
Ah.
SCENE 12. INT. TUNNEL. SPACE STATION.
Beth and Victor are running down a darkened tunnel. A flash
of red illuminates in front of them.
VICTOR
What was that? Was that Bo?
Victor uses his walkie talkie.
VICTOR
Hey, Bo? Amy? Are you in section
10?
There is no answer.
BETH
They should be on the other side of
the ship.
VICTOR
Stay here.
BETH
Victor...
Victor slowly approaches another door, he peers through the
glass window. He opens it slowly. The door shuts leaving
Beth and Victor on opposite sides. Beth uses the walkie
talkie.
BETH

around the neck and presses him against the wall violently.
Macks eyes are bright red.
BETH
Victor!
Beth runs to open the door. Victor kicks Mack and gets out
of his hold.
VICTOR
No, Beth! Get the others and run.
He starts to run down the passageway with Mack following.
SCENE 13. INT. TUNNEL.
Beth runs quickly through the darkened passageway. She
passes a sign which reads Section 13. There is suddenly a
loud crash at the side of the ship which knocks her to the
ground. She gasps and looks around. She stands back on her
feet and runs until she stands in front of a sign which
reads Section 14.
SCENE 14. INT. TUNNEL.
Beth opens the door to section 14. She is breathing heavily
and closes her eyes. The electricity suddenly turns on,
lighting up the room. She laughs. She heads over to a
computer and starts to set up the emergency ship system. She
places her hand over the identifying system. It beeps
loudly.
OPERATING SYSTEM
Hello, Bethany Hopkins.
BETH
Im so glad to hear your voice. Now
come on we need to be quick.

There is a loud crash at the door which opens to the
emergency ship, almost knocking Beth to her feet again. Beth
stands in the corner of the room. There is a knock which
sounds loudly four times. The door slowly opens.
The End.
