The clockwork of the universe shifts up a gear at this months New Moon, which
interestingly occurs just a couple of hours after the Solstice!!
While every New Moon brings fresh opportunities, this one is bursting with dynamic
new energy and brimming with options. Our star the Sun has been very active of late
too, with major sun spot activity, CMEs and flares.

The Solstice sets the tone for the coming three months. The combination of the New
Moon and Solstice happening together makes this time highly charged. Setting your
intentions now infuses your decisions and commitments with this powerful solar energy.
This will generate tangible results; some of these will undoubtedly lead to major life
achievements. Make time at the Solstice to meditate and focus on your creative intentions.
In unsure of your exact direction, the energy of the Sun will help to make your souls
intention more conscious and awaken you to the path forward.

The last time the December Solstice combined with a New Moon was in 1995 (29
Sagittarius). We know this because this is the Metonic Cycle. Every 19 years the
New Moon happens at the same zodiacal degree and on the same date. Consider
the events from that period and if you are old enough, look further back to
December 1976, when the New Moon and December Solstice again coincided
(also 29 Sagittarius). What life changing events took place? What key decisions
did you make?

This New Moon is right on 0 degrees Capricorn. The combination of the cardinal quality
and the earth element, Capricorn is concerned with accepting responsibility, defining
boundaries, setting agendas, making decisions, planning ahead and climbing slowly to the
top. Its pragmatic, practical and cautious. Highly disciplined, Capricorn is ruled by the
ringed planet, Saturn, and right on cue, at this Solstice, Saturn is on the verge of
Sagittarius, changing signs on December 24 after a 2 year sojourn in Scorpio. This tells us
that agendas are changing, not just at a personal level, but also on the world stage.

The mutable fire sign Sagittarius is symbolised by the

archer-centaur, a far-sighted creature that aims
towards some distant (unseen) target. Sagittarius is the
sign of the visionary. This gives us freedom to explore
our options for the coming year and beyond, and
marks a major turning point in our collective journey.

The last time Saturn was moving through Sagittarius (1985-8) was the prelude to the
breakup of the Soviet Union. A major paradigm shift took place that would eventually
lead to political reform and the fall of the Berlin Wall. This was the era of
Perestroika

(restructuring)

and

Glasnost

(openness

in

government).

Freedom,

democracy and the laws of the land are concepts associated with Jupiter, Saturn and
Uranus and their signs, Sagittarius, Capricorn and Aquarius, all of which are marked
with a cosmic highlighter at the present time. See more at Celestial Insight.

Saturn will however back track into Scorpio in 2015 for a few months before fully
engaging in Sagittarius, so we will be in a transitionary period for much of 2015, but this
Solstice is likely to set the agenda for the longer term. After we get past the last hit of
PLURSQ in March, 2015 we start a completely new astrology calendar. There are many
features of the heavens now that make the current astrology forecast one of dynamic
change.
The Solstice chart itself shows Pluto and Venus joining forces, ramping up our
desires, so whatever is decided upon at this Solstice/New Moon has a great deal of
energy and passion behind it.

Mountains can be moved. These planets are squaring

Uranus and the nodal axis, and with the recent sixth hit of PLURSQ on December
16, this Solstice/New Moon is likely to spawn many a personal revolution.

To top it off, Uranus, the planet of innovation, creativity, technology and the future,
stations direct, another sign that significant change is imminent. Focus on what you want
to personally create in 2015.
As we venture into 2015 with an expanded vision, the task ahead is to make a
personal contribution and help make the world a better place for all.
