AHIS Y11 Guide to Success on Cambridge Exam

Firstly, the Y11 IGCSE Exam is comprised of two basic subject areas: A Core Content area, and A Depth Study.

For now, Ive boiled it down to the essential, starting with the two choices for which you all voted:

Knowledge of the material listed above is tested in the following 3 part format:

So, they give us the keys to success, and they give us the exact details of how they grade as well:

So, theyve given us a lot of material so far, almost cheating. They go even farther, and give us the exact
material, in very good detail, that will be on the test. Starting with our Core Content (B):

They do the same for our Depth Study choice (Option A; WW1):

So, we have all the info we need to succeed on the test. To make that a ladder to success for us, Ive also
counted the days we have left in class. To do so, Im assuming you wont come on Friday. I think you all need to
come on Friday, and Im disappointed in the turnout so far, but I just take that as a realistic indicator moving
forward, and we cant seem to use Fridays do cover core content. Instead, well use Fridays to focus on
memorable highlights (stories, songs, etc that can really help solidify learned material), and on our writing and
test-taking techniques.
So, leaving out Fridays, public holidays, and a couple of days to take the Cambridge Trial exam, that leaves us
with 24 class days. Lets call it 20 to be safe. In those 20 days, we have to cover 11 specified content areas (7 for
the Core Content; 4 for the Depth Study), plus another 10 specified content areas for the depth study, many of
which dovetail or overlap with the 4 points. So well narrow those down, compress them.
All of which gives us our schedule for the remainder of your time in the dungeon that is AHIS Y11 History:

As we have learned from studying the disaster of war, things never go as planned.
These days will be used earlier, to catch up on subjects on which we linger a bit.
