Pembrokeshire Tourism Ltd is a trade
association for the tourism industry with
members from all sectors. They have
worked with CEMAS to develop an app
to support the hospitality sector.
The app features will give the food providers a system
to input all meals with a list of any of the 14 allergens they
may contain. The EU has set out new Regulations that all
food providers must give clear and accurate information
to consumers. By selecting the allergen this would bring up
all the items on the menu that they are able to eat. A second
search being If someone selects a meal this can be brought
up on the screen and it will show if the allergen is in the
requested meal.
One of the best features of the app is the ability to search
by various methods and its ease of use. The app is aimed
at and should benefit everyone involved in the hospitality
trade from hotels, b&b, guesthouses, caf, restaurants,
pubs and food suppliers. Creating an app that makes this
legislation easier to handle for small businesses will not
only assist their business, but provide a profile for innovation
and development for Pembrokeshire Tourism as well.
The benefit that this app will bring to our industry is to
hopefully cut through so much of the red-tape that already
exists helping streamline processes and support any
commerce that experiences constant change and the
pressures of a seasonal business model.
This app should make life a little easier for the hospitality
trade, as the issue with someone eating something that
they are allergic too could be fatal. The hope is that the
app is valued by the hospitality trade and is found to be
a real asset and then can roll it out to other areas of Wales.

darparwyr bwyd i fewngofnodi rhestr ar gyfer pob pryd syn
nodi unrhyw un or 14 o alergenau a all fod yn y bwyd, yna
byddai hyn ar gael i unrhyw aelod o staff syn gwasanaethu
aelod or cyhoedd. Drwy ddewis yr alergen, gallant weld yr
holl eitemau ar y fwydlen y gallant eu bwyta. Mae ffordd arall
o chwilio hefyd, sef, os bydd rhywun yn dewis pryd o fwyd,
yna gellir gweld manylion amdano ar y sgrn, a bydd hyn yn
dangos a ywr alergen wedii gynnwys yn y pryd a ddewiswyd.
