ATLAS E-PRO PATCH

100% Solids, High Strength, Low Modulus, Non-Shrink,
Polymer Epoxy Patching Mortar

Description

Atlas E-Pro Patch is a three-component, 100% solids,

high strength, low modulus, non-shrink, multi-purpose
polymer concrete patching mortar for concrete repair.
E-Pro Patch has been engineered to withstand heavy
traffic and extreme weather conditions for demanding
applications, such as bridge decks, airport runways,
loading docks, parking structures, etc. This specialty
repair mortar combines high compressive strength,
excellent adhesion, high elongation and chemical
resistance to provide a heavy load bearing repair with
ability to flex and move with the concrete and offer
increased resistance to cracking and spalling. This
moisture tolerant, semi-rigid epoxy mortar cures rapidly
for minimum downtime of traffic areas, allowing repairs
to be done during the day or night and ready for vehicle
traffic typically within 3 hours. E-Pro Patch is a convenient pre-packaged repair system that consists of a high
quality epoxy resin, curing agent and an engineered
blend of graded aggregates to provide a superior
concrete patching material.

Uses

Concrete patching for bridge decks, highways, airport

runways, parking structures, industrial floors, loading
docks, piers, dams, or other concrete surfaces
subject to heavy traffic, abrasion, harsh weather,
thermal movements and chemical attack.
Expansion joint nosing repairs for bridges, parking
structures or heavy traffic floors.
Low-modulus concrete repair for spalls on interior or
exterior concrete structures.

Application Procedures
Preparation
Existing surfaces must be clean and sound. Remove all
dirt, dust, laitance, grease, asphalt and any other foreign
substances from the surface. Provide a minimum 1/2
saw-cut around the perimeter of the patch. Shotblasting, sandblasting or other type of mechanical surface
preparation method is recommended to provide a clean
and bondable surface for E-Pro Patch. After cleaning the
substrate, blow the area clean with high pressure, oil-free
air. The surface may be dry or damp at time of application,
but should not have puddled water. Ambient and surface
temperatures must be a minimum of 400 F (40 C) at time
of application.

Atlas E-Pro Patch

Priming
For most projects, it is not necessary to use a primer.
Consult your Atlas Tech representative regarding the use
of a primer. If a primer is required, use the Atlas
E-Pro Overlay resin as the primer; mix equal proportions
of Component A and Component B with a slow speed drill
and Jiffy mix paddle. Mix for 2 minutes until the color is
completely uniform. Apply the primer with a brush or roller
to completely cover the area without leaving puddles.
After primer application, immediately mix & apply the
mortar.
Mixing
For small patching projects, use a 1/2 variable speed drill
with a mortar mix paddle. For large projects, use a mortar
mixer. Condition components of E-Pro Patch to 65 - 850 F
(18 - 290 C) before mixing. Pre-mix each liquid component
thoroughly before blending together. In a clean mixing
container, proportion equal parts by volume of Component
A and Component B. Mix together for 2 minutes until the
color is completely uniform.
Slowly add aggregate while continuing to mix. Mix thoroughly until the aggregate is completely wet-out.
Application
Immediately place the mixed mortar. Set screeds or float
to desired level, strike-off, thoroughly compact and finish
the surface. Use the appropriate finishing tool to achieve
a smooth or grooved finish. A sand or aggregate is not
necessary to broadcast over the patch, but may be used
to provide a textured finish.
Traffic
E-Pro Patch will typically be ready to accept vehicle traffic
within 1 - 2 hours of application. Cure time is dependent
on ambient and substrate temperatures.

Cleaning

After use, immediately clean uncured epoxy from tools

and equipment with Atlas Citrus Cleaner or other approved
solvent. Cured epoxy mortar can be removed mechanically.

Packaging / Yield

Storage

Store in a dry area, out of direct sunlight, between

40 - 950 F (50 - 350 C).
Protect from freezing. If possible, keep epoxy stored at a
consistent temperature.

Limitations

Do not apply when ambient or substrate temperature is

below 400 F (40 C) at time of application.
Not recommended for full depth repairs. For
applications thicker than 3, contact your Atlas
Tech representative.
Do not thin with solvents; solvents will prevent proper
cure.
Prior to repairing large exterior areas that are on-grade
and subject to freeze/thaw conditions, contact your
Atlas Tech representative.
Since cure time is dependent on temperatures and mass
of epoxy, a test should be performed to determine
exact cure time prior to application.
Concrete substrate must be a minimum of 14 days old
prior to application.

Caution

Close container after each use. Always wear protective

goggles and gloves when using this product. Do not take
internally. Wash all exposed skin with soap and water
after use. Avoid overexposure to breathing vapors. Do
not take internally. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting.
Contact a physician immediately. If eye contact occurs,
flush eyes with fresh water for 15 minutes and contact a
physician. Keep out of the reach of children.
Additional precautions and safety information are contained in the Material Safety Data Sheet.
