Dear Matthew,
I had the best weekend! Our Youth Group went to New Chum Ranch for horse-riding camp. We
arrived on Saturday morning and were assigned to our bunk-houses. After lunch, we received some
instruction on how to mount our horse and how to make it go right or left. We learned the
techniques for stopping and starting and keeping our horse away from tempting grass!
Then it was time for go for trail ride. I was given George to ride. He was easy to control but
some other horses werent. Toni was on Pudding which kept trying to trot. Stacy had Yeager and
spent his time biting the other horses on their rumps! We rode for about an hour and a half. Our
2
only problem was caused by two motor cyclist who revved their engines up and went past us too
fast. Some of the horses became very skittish and tried to gallop off. The staff members acted
quickly and calmed them down, preventing any accident.
I hope our Youth Group goes there again. We had such a good time.
Your friend,
Connor
