This is e1m0 Snow aboard the Ikarus,
It's a cold night, hopeless night... After losing my battleship to another
capsuleer at Jan, I've decided to leave everything behind at Vaajaita which
I was barely starting to call home. So I took my favourite frigate, fitted
it with what I thought would be useful to keep it safe in the depths of
where I was headed and began my journey. There was only one faction that
came to mind when trying to think for a destination, The Blood Raiders Covenant.
I don't know if it were the colors, or just the lust for a life of mischief.
So there I was, about to embark a 38 jump journey which would probably end
with me back at Vaajaita waking on a new clone body.
I made my way through all the HiSec systems with ease and without any problems.
It wasn't until I got to LowSec that it was almost game over when some of the
blood thirsty capsuleers al most got to me as soon as I got to the first few
Low Security systems on my route. It was only thanks to my paranoia that I
survived and lost them by warping to a planet instead of one of the system's
StarGates and activating the cloak as soon as I got out of warp.
...Thank the state for that cloak! It's not as efficient as the Covert Ops
cloak, but it gets the job done.
And so I got to where I'm at right now... Defsunun!! From what Intel I could
gather by doing a search on the StarMap, There was a Cyno activated and about
2 dozen ships in space. This could only mean bad news. So before jumping to
this particular system, I stayed cloaked near the StarGate and waited for
another capsuleer to jump through to Defsunun. It must have been only a couple
of seconds that the other ship jumped before I did. To my surprise and relief,
there was no GateCamp waiting for me on the other side. So the first thing
that I could think of doing was getting the hell out of sight. I warped 50km
away from my next Stargate, activated the oh so beautiful cloak and aligned away
from the StarGate to travel as fast as my cloaked ship could (89m/s).
My final destination is only 8 jumps away and I wasn't going to let it slip
through my fingers for being careless.
I am now about 280km away from the StarGate and stopping to mark my current
location as a safe spot in this system...

The system was 1-SMEB I knew it was dangerous, but I jumped to it anyway. I
looked at local battle logs of the system; It wasn't pretty. There were ships
being destroyed almost every other minute. Was it bravery, or just the fact
that I wasn't about to quit after almost 40 jumps through the cluster of stars?
whatever it was... It was worth it! I was doing the usual, jumping to a planet
as soon as I got to the next system. Only this time, someone tailed me and
pointed me before I could warp. What was I to do? I am glad to tell you that I
reacted just as any pro pilot would. Without hesitation, I aligned to whatever
I could find, ignited the afterburner and overloaded it. As soon as I heard the
first rocket or missile hit the hull I thought I was done for. Lucky for me I
fitted a Deadspace Shield Booster with a faction SBA; so I was able to tank the
enemy vessel's attacks without any problem. I gained some distance and noticed
I was being pointed no more! I didn't even think about it. I just aligned and
spam warped to the next jump gate in my route. Once at the other side and still
shaking from the adrenaline and breathing heavily, I noticed I had burned my AB
and my Web and damaged partially the SBA and the SB. A few jumps after and just
as I arrived at my final destination, all I could do was laugh in excitement.
This is e1m0 Snow aboard the Ikarus and I am still alive!
