The members of the On-board Diagnostic Symposium (OBD) organizing team are in the

process of developing the technical sessions for the SAE 2015 On-Board Diagnostics
Symposium Europe scheduled to take place in Stuttgart, Germany on March 2-4,
2015. Potential presenters are invited to submit presentations, including title and author
contact information, by December 1, 2014.
The 2015 OBD Symposium Europe will be the premier global event focusing on On-board
Diagnostic technologies, regulations and standards. Industry experts from around the world
will share their knowledge regarding the latest OBD related scientific discoveries and
technological innovations. All research, design, and testing engineers; regulatory and
service personnel; and other industry professionals should attend this event.
This event will address the automotive engineering technical standards, processes and
techniques necessary to comply with associated CARB, EPA and European Commission
regulations.
A wide range of subject matter experts from the OBD world, including legislators such as
Mike Regenfuss of the California Air Resources Board (CARB), will be speaking at this event.
These presenters will provide information pertaining to the latest regulations and how these
impact OEMs, suppliers, and other industry professionals. Importantly, this event will also
allow time for interfacing, group networking and personal discussion with leading
international OBD practitioners.
A broad base of participants will be present at this event including OEM design engineers,
supplier and service engineers; light, medium and heavy duty vehicle product design
engineers and diagnostics researchers, domestic and international governmental regulator
and regulatory affairs specialists; inspection and maintenance personnel; emissions
specialists and consultants; engineering educators and researchers; test equipment and
vehicle electronics designers, manufacturers, and users.
SAE continues to provide a very comprehensive review of current regulations and related
technologies and this symposium series is viewed by the industry as a must attend event
for OBD engineers and component developers. As well as marking your calendars for March
2-4, 2015 (Stuttgart, Germany), please join the address and discussion on the ever
evolving world of on-board monitoring, diagnostic and calibration systems by being a
presenter.
Authors are invited to submit presentations, including the title and authors
contact information, by December 1, 2014. Abstracts should be submitted to
brandie@sae.org for consideration into the program.
Presentation acceptance will be based on organizer moderated peer review of draft
