Kinner Kailash Trekking
Located on the border district of Himachal Pradesh, Kinnaur; Kinner Kailash Trekking is the
sacred dwelling place of Lord Shiva. Mount Kinner Kailash (6500 Meters) is bound to attract
trekkers across the world as it provides all adventurers considerable scope for exploration and
enjoyment. The fitness quotient which is the basic concern for most trekkers is quite high. This
mountainous region of Indian Himalayas is visually vibrant with snow capped peaks, orchards,
wooden houses and the flowing Sutlej River which renders a serene scenic beauty to the
surrounding landscape. While the place is a real treat for the eyes and entails the process of an
enjoyable exercise in the form of trekking, it also has a rich religious background. The colour
changing Shivlingam is not the only religious attribute of Mount Kinner Kailash; places like
Parvati Kund, Bheem Dwar, Ashiqui Park also have their fair share of mythical connections and
religious connotations.

The pious journey towards the 79 feet vertical rock can take about three days. This rock is hailed
as the Shivlingam which lies between Mt. Kailash (19,850 ft) and Mt. Jorkanden (21,237 ft). The
journey might seem to be an arduous one but the visual spectacle offered by nature is beyond
verbal articulation.
One way to plan this adventure would be to reach Recong Peo, the Head Quarter of Kinnaur
District of Himachal Pradesh. From there one can take a ride to Tangling village situated on the
left bank of the river Sutlej. Tangling village can be treated as an ideal starting point for the trek.
However while Kinner Kailash trekking the water supply needs to be refilled at available stops.
Caution and care should be exercised in all ventures.
