ProLife International Foundation was born from the vision of a group of Romanian believers
motivated by passion for God and compassion for people. Since in Romania during our generation any
social-charitable act, cultural-educational, and pastoral-missionary conducted to individual or group is
considered proselytizing and is viewed with suspicion or even rejected, it has been made an appeal to
the idea of setting up a foundation that allows access to various state institutions and in homes of our
fellows in need. Therefore from protecting the lives of unborn children (through counseling and
support for women in pregnancy crisis) to protecting life at the opposite existential pole (by supporting
elderly who are also sometimes unable to decide for themselves) we fight for life, countering the two
very common phenomena which threaten: abortion and euthanasia.

Anything is possible with God

My story began at the end of the first year of faculty, when my partner together with my family
members came to Iasi to get me home. I had known him for four years already.
My parents left to visit the city. My boyfriend didn’t go, saying he
was tired after the long travel (Brasov – Iasi) in which he drove the car. I
didn’t go either because I had to learn for my next day exam, the last in that
year. Then it happened. I got pregnant in a day theoretically impossible (the
23rd day). I was very sure it cannot happen to remain pregnant because we had
been very careful.
When I found out I was pregnant I started to loose my confidence in
myself and I felt like being on an edge. Yet, I loved children very much, and
sometimes the fact that I was to become a mother made me happy. Other
times I was very frightened about what would happen to me.
Also, I couldn’t stand the idea of an abortion and every time my
partner spoke about this subject, I used to argue, leave the room and start to cry. I am convinced that in
this kind of situation very few men assume their responsibility of becoming fathers. Most of them try to
escape through abortion or leaving their partner.

I knew very well the physical and psychological consequences of

an abortion. And above this, I had the great chance to discover “ProLife”
Crisis Pregnancy Center from Brasov.
My situation had been analyzed and when it became evident that I
want to fight for my child I was promised to be supported. My parents
didn’t wanted even to hear about a possible interruption of the university year. When I told to my
mother that I am pregnant, I already was decided for a plan, which gave me a little certainty.

I will always be very grateful in my heart for all the help God gave me through the
persons I met at „ProLife”. Because of them I had the strength to resist the
unimaginable humiliation and great pressures that came upon me. So I could to
pronounce myself for the life of my baby in times when everybody else was against.
Also, God drove my steps not to the most closed clinic where my child’s life would
have been easily ceased, but to „ProLife”. In this center I met sincere and open
persons that wanted only my best and helped me to realize nothing is at chance, but
everything has a purpose. They introduced me to “The First Step” from Iasi (where I
was studying) and to “Esther Foundation”. So, in my 7th month of pregnancy I was
welcomed at the Mothers’ Center.
Fortunately, my little girl had born being well and big enough; she is healthy and good.
This child came at an impossible moment in my life, but God gave me a great strength and a
courage that I didn’t know I could have. Because of my little girl and with the help of „ProLife” many
difficult problems were solved: marriage, a place to stay, good relationships in my family.
I wish that my experience will be an encouragement for the young women in a similar situation with
mine. I am very grateful to all that stood by my side and especially to „ProLife”.
