My unique role required working directly to the two execs, managing the teams on the
ground and in the edit. I was the first port of call for all stories and character journeys in the
Call Centre across the entire series. I was responsible for:
Ensuring every single story at shoot level had a solid narrative arc.
Ranking and judging all the material arriving in the edit
Giving and receiving daily editorial feedback to/from shooting teams to nail down
stories with substance.
Establishing a strong chain of communication across the production including
commissioner briefings.
I was also responsible for directing on location and dealing with difficult contributors.

This critically acclaimed Apprentice style competition involved a tough shooting schedule and
a very complex edit. I managed the stresses and strains of two brothers in the kitchen and
front of house in a remote countryside location and captured the drama and tensions that
ensued.

In this landmark social experiment, which went on to achieve phenomenal US success, five
teenage couples were given the opportunity to live as adults. Shoot side, I managed
explosive hormones and storylines. Edit side, vast amounts of Ob doc footage to make
into a BBC hour.

A lively, high-rating episode; I used decisive story-telling skills to drive the intense shoot
week whilst simultaneously juggling contributors, logistics, and two crews. Extremely
fast turnaround edit with emphasis on tight scripting and quirky, but popular music.

Endemol
In this first ever series of the long running format, I used my experience of Obs doc actuality
filming to self-shoot the diet swap weeks and pioneered the overall series style for two of the
magazine strands; choosing the music and writing style in the edit to set the tone.
(Exec prod: Colette Foster)
For this production, I was asked to revamp the series stylistically and editorially. I oversaw a
team of casting producers, and I directed the first ever set of powerful American films in the
Supersize canon.

I worked closely with my exec to come up with creative and bold ideas. This project required
ambition and big thinking with very little resources. Often required using my own initiative to
spearhead the visuals and character journey, I storyboarded and planned precisely to make an
entertaining factual show.

Honour Killings and Beyond Hitlers Reach charting the journey of seven Jewish

of touch needed when dealing with sensitive issues and a journalistic knowledge of the
