PINE GLEN PTO BOARD ELECTIONS for 2015-2016 School Year

We will be holding an election to vote for Pine Glen PTO Board Officers for the 2015-2016 school
year. Names of those interested will be announced in the Principals and PTO Blogs as well as
the PTO Members GroupVine email. The election will take place during the May 14 th meeting.
The PTO Board includes the following positions with responsibilities listed below:
(2)Co-President(s):
Schedule, attend, and run PTO meetings, set agendas with secretary;
pickup/deliver/answer mail; announce updates to PTO membership via email
and blog; keep files and act as a contact person for board, teachers and
parents. Both Co-Presidents will also server on the BPTO Board and represent
Pine Glen at three BPTO meetings held annually in the School Committee
Room at the Superintendents Office.
(1)Vice President:
The vice president organizes the annual membership drive and
committee
volunteers drive in the fall. VP may be asked to chair a PTO meeting in the
absence of both Co-Presidents.
(1)Secretary:
Board

Record minutes at all PTO meetings; type minutes and submit to PTO
including Principal for review and distribution; other duties may include
revising/writing forms, publication of a school telephone book, letters, etc;
and keeping records of meetings.

(1)Treasurer:

Collect all money coming into the PTO; issue checks from PTO for
Receive bank statements and keep account balanced; make deposits and
withdrawals; submit monthly treasurers report for PTO meetings; write yearend status report; keep records and receipts. The treasurer will also keep
records to comply with tax-exempt requirements, file annual tax and annual
reports. Accounting experience preferred.

PLEASE NOTE: Nomination forms must be submitted no later than April 30th.
Nominations will not be taken during the meeting. If you want to run for office, you
must submit the form below whether or not you currently hold a PTO office. Any
position with two or more nominees will be voted on at the meeting by paper ballot.
No one shall be eligible to hold an office until they have been an active and
participating member of a PTO committee for one year or by a majority vote of the
PTO Executive Board. ***Roles can be adjusted to fit schedules the PTO is a team
effort!
