Chapter Degree Ceremony

The above pictured members have met or exceeded the


Rock Port Chapter, FFA constitution minimum standards
for this degree. This is the highest FFA degree a chapter
can bestow on its members. Each received a silver pin
symbolizing the Chapter FFA Degree. Shelbie Gaines,

Star Farmer Chapter


Degree
Strong leadership is needed by this
chapter and our country
Star Greenhands:
Every year new members in
the FFA work hard on the start of
their SAE in order to attain the
Greenhand FFA Degree. Outstanding
Greenhands attain the privilege of
being awarded the Star Greenhand.
Chosen according to their participation
and beginning SAE Project. The Star
Greenhands of the Rock Port FFA
Chapter for 2014-15 are Ally Demott
and Kaycee Davis.

The Star Chapter Farmer


Award is given to the chapter
member that has outstanding
SAE in production and
demonstrates the most
involvement in all phases
of chapters activities. This
years Star Chapter Farmer
Trenton Oswald has been
busy with cow/calf herd and
recently added
chickens.

competed once a month down
in Smithville at the Area 1

The purpose of the leadership award is to
recognize those members who have displayed
outstanding leadership skills during the past
year, by participating in various chapter and
school activities. To attain this award, members
complete the leadership section of their record
book, which is scored according to state guidelines.

The scholarship award is given to
a member of each class, who has the
highest over-all grade point average
based on the school district 4.0 scale.

The Rock Port FFA Chapter


sells fruit and other products
each fall as the main fundraising
activity for the chapter. The
money raised is used to fund
activities throughout the year,
including tonights banquet.

Contest Awards

Each year, many FFA members


participate in agricultural contest at the
area and district level. Each contest has a
minimum number of teams that can qualify
for state. Every contest team devotes
much time and effort to studying in these
competitive events. Teams may study in
class, before and after school, or nights and
weekends. This year, teams competed at
the are level in Savannah, and the district
level in Cameron.

State Chorus Award

Each year, students


can send applications to
participate in the State
FFA Chorus. This year
we had one applicant
accepted. Josh Lucas
was recognized for being
accepted.

The top Fruit Sales award


is presented to the individual
who sells the highest dollar
value of all chapter members.
Jase Hughes was this years
top fruit seller. He will receive
a $50 cash prize.
