printing centers of the state includes, Jawad, Bhairongarh, Mandsaur, Umedpura, Burhanpur,

Tie and dye chunris are the specialty of Tarapur and Mandsaur.
The craftsmanship of the famous Maheshwari sarees has a wide variety of checks. Madhya
Pradesh is also famous at producing tussar silk handloom fabrics. Skilled craftsmanship of
Madhya Pradesh also displayed in a variety of zari embroidered (gold and silver threads)
articles.

Mandsaur district in Madhya Pradesh, India.

in Hoshangabad district, Madhya Pradesh, India
The Bhoj Wetland consists of two lakes located in the city of Bhopal, the capital of the central
Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The two lakes are the Bhojtal and the Lower Lake, which lie
to the west of the city center. The Bhojtal was created by Paramara Raja Bhoj (1005-1055),
ruler of Malwa. He established Bhopal (also named after him) to secure the eastern frontier
of his kingdom. The lake was created by constructing an earthen dam across the Kolans
River. Bhadbhada dam was constructed in 1965 at the southeast corner of the Bhojtal; it now
controls the outflow to the Kaliasot River.
Tawa Reservoir is a large reservoir on the Tawa River in central India. It is located in
Hoshangabad District of Madhya Pradesh state. The reservoir was formed by the construction
of the Tawa Dam, which began in 1958 and was completed in 1978.
Asirgarh Qila is an Indian fortress (qila) situated in the Satpura Range, about 20 km north of
the city of Burhanpur, in Burhanpur District of Madhya Pradesh state. Because the fortress
commands a pass through the Satpuras connecting the valleys of the Narmada and Tapti
rivers, one of the most important routes from northern India to the Deccan,it was known as
the "key to the Deccan". During Mughal Era, it was considered that Deccan starts from here:
the empire from Asirgarh to Delhi was considered as Hindustan. The fort was built by Asa Ahir
of the Ahir dynasty.
