THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD ARE BECOME THE KINGDOMS OF OUR GODRev 11:15

INTRODUCTION-DONT KEEP GOD WAITING!

And therefore the Lord earnestly waits [expecting, looking and longing] to be gracious to you; and
therefore he lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the
Lord is a God of justice, Blessed (happy fortunate, to be envied) are all those who earnestly wait for Him,
who expect, look and long for Him. Isaiah 30:18
This is a beautiful passage that describes the depth of the Lords passion and commitment for His
people. Based on the passage above, we can see that the heart of God longs to be inquired of. He
wants to be sought after, so that He can show us His mercy and loving-kindness. This scripture says He
even lifts Himself up, so that He can demonstrate His love. That is an awesome illustration of how
precious the heart of God is toward each one of us.
I believe one of the many ways that the Lord demonstrates His love is through divine intervention as a
response to intercessory prayer. It is for loves sake [His love for us] that He even allows Himself to be
inquired of, and sought after. When we approach the Lord in intercessory prayer on behalf of another,
we are manifesting His nature. Intercession is a God expression. It is god-like activity. It is an
activity that can only be performed by God, in and through, those who are willing to be available to His
Spirit. Intercessory prayer is an expressioninitiated by He Who is love, He empowers us to pray so
that He can respond through deliverance, healing and mighty acts.
When we engage in apostolic and prophetic intercession, the Anointing of the Breaker spoken of in
Micah 2: 13 is released, The Breaker [the Messiah] will go up before them. They will break through, pass
in through the gate and go out through it, and their King will pass on before them, the Lord at their
head. When the Breaker [Jesus Christ] goes forth, power changes hands, shifts are made, individuals,
churches, cities, nations and even the world is impacted.
There is another manifestation of the Anointing of the Breaker in 2 Samuel 5: 20 says, So David went
to Baal Perazim and defeated the Philistines there. He said, "The LORD has overwhelmed my enemies in
front of me like an overwhelming flood." That is why that place is called Baal Perazim [The Lord
Overwhelms]. I believe as we release corporate strategic prayer in our churches, we will see a mighty
demonstration of this anointing doing for us, what we cannot do for ourselves. All praise to our God!

PART I: APOSTOLIC REFORMATION

20 You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus Himself the chief
Cornerstone.
21 In Him the whole structure is joined (bound, welded) together harmoniously, and it continues to rise (grow,
increase) into a holy temple in the Lord [a sanctuary dedicated, consecrated, and sacred to the presence of the
Lord].
22 In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you yourselves also are being built up [into this structure] with the
rest, to form a fixed abode (dwelling place) of God in (by, through) the Spirit.
Ephesians 2:20-22 (Amplified Bible)

There is so much that can be said about the apostolic reformation that is taking place in these last days.
God is releasing a new breed of ministers who will carry out ministry with apostolic power and
anointing. This will be accomplished according to the order found in the Acts of the Apostles based on
what was already established by the Chief Apostle Himself, Jesus Christ.
Many words are being used to describe apostles and apostolic anointing. To name a few, we usually
hear that the apostolic anointing is an equipping, empowering, confronting, and releasing anointing.
However, there is one word that I dont think I have ever heard. I believe it sheds some light on what it
means to be apostolic. The word is uncompromising. In the days ahead, refusal to compromise is
going to be the dividing line that separates the boys from the men, so to speak. Its fairly easy to carry a
title these days. It may not be that way in the near future. When the waters are no longer muddied by
political correctness and tolerance, we will be forced to stand on the side of truth or error. The
reason the Lord describes this living structure as being built upon the apostles and prophets with Christ
Jesus Himself the chief Cornerstone is that these are two ministries [apostles and prophets] are
ordained to maintain and reinforce the integrity of what was already established by Jesus Christ.
What have we done when basic fundamental Christian beliefs are being challenged and done away with
by the Church as an organization? There will be a restoration of truth to the Body of Christ. Men and
women who are bold enough to say what the Spirit of the Lord is saying. You can tear down a building
but if the foundation is strong, it will still be unmovable and you can build again. In Ezekiel 43:10 God
says to Ezekiel, Thou son of man, show the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of
their iniquities: and let them measure the pattern. Apostolic people boldly proclaim the truth with
power, not to beat people up or make them feel bad. The truth maintains the integrity of the building
and keeps everyone safe. The truth is merciful. The truth guarantees the integrity, safety, soundness
and trustworthiness of that which has been built. Apostolic people will show forth the pattern of Gods
house by and through the power of the Spirit of God so that the Kingdom can advance. For since the
days of John the Baptist the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and the violent take it by force!
New Wine and New Wineskins
Those who embrace this move of God will be moved out of their comfort zones. They will receive
comfort from the Great Comforter as they move into new levels of innovation and creativity to
evangelize and spread the gospel message of the kingdom.

Apostolic and prophetic people live on the cutting edge, so to speak. They dont swim in the shallow
waters of life, but in the deep where survival requires reliance on the supernatural power of God. In
the business world they would be identified as risk takers. We are just like Peter who dared to get out
of the boat of comfort, convenience and familiarity in order to step out on nothingness where stability
can only be found in ones ability to focus on Jesus.
Apostolic and prophetic people know beforehand when things are shifting atmospherically and are
governed by the Spirit of God to move accordingly. Therefore, one of the qualities needed in apostolic
people is an ability to adapt quickly to change. By the time most people are ready to make a
monument out of a movement; apostolically natured people are already doing something new by the
Spirit of the Lord.
Apostolic people have to come to the end of their own natural talents and abilities, recognizing their
inability to produce anything apart from the power of God. We should be the greatest of servants, the
most humble in heart with all gentleness of spirit. God gives grace to the humble and strength to those
who glory in their own infirmities (weaknesses) so that the Spirit of Christ may rest upon them. Not
many noble.not many wise, but he chooses the weak things of this world to confound the wise. This
will be the generation of hungry hearts demonstrating power out of intimate, one on one relationship
with the One who has been given all power and authority.
Mature apostolic people think corporately. The day of my ministry will soon be over and replaced by
spiritually aligned and divinely connected relationships that are only interested in the glory of God and
not the greatness of man. Mature spiritual leaders understand all five-fold ministry gifts are an
extension of Jesus Christs and His ongoing ministry in the earth. They are keenly aware that we need all
of the giftings in the Body fully functional in order to maintain spiritual equilibrium, growth and
development; until we all come to the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ. Jesus will be
seen and expressed when we are harmoniously moving in synch by the spirit; each of us in our places,
doing what we are assigned and anointed to do with right motives at the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Apostolic and prophetic people are willing to be forerunners and pioneers in new ways of thinking,
doing and being.
Above all, apostolic-prophetic people are passionately interested in seeing the
advancement of Gods kingdom agenda on earth as it is in heaven.

APOSTOLIC MINISTRY
The Essence of Apostolic Ministry is the Holy Spirit
The essence of apostolic ministry is the Holy Spirit. His involvement with the church, the advancement
of the kingdom and the Body of Christ was so crucial that Jesus told his disciple not to go anywhere or
do anything until they were endowed with power from on high. You cannot have apostolic ministry
without the Holy Spirit.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE IN AN APOSTOLIC HOUSE
According to Bishop Tudor Bizmark, Apostolic houses are the first in order, rank and assignment. What
they open up in the heavens will determine what is opened up for the entire region. These houses must
Kingdom Living Global Ministries | Apostolic & Prophetic University| Apostolic & Prophetic Intercession Level 1

P age |4
function at a high level in all that they do in order for the destiny of their assigned spheres to be
accomplished. I have learned that apostolic churches are strenuously opposed by the forces of darkness.
THE MINISTRY OF INTERCESSION IS CRUCIAL IN AN APOSTOLIC HOUSE
The way the Lord revealed it to me is that the level of the assignment on the ministry determines the
amount of prayer necessary. In other words, intercession must go forth that is, equal to or greater
than, the assignment of the minister or ministry. When Reverend William Seymour [Azusa Street] was
praying for revival, he was spending 5 hours a day in prayer. When he asked the Lord what more, the
Lord told him to pray more. He increased his prayer time seven hours per day.
The life of William Seymour had a profound effect on the world. His hunger for a move of God was
intense. The fruit of his spiritual hunger was the Azusa Street Revival.
Here is an excerpt about William Seymours life.
With an intense hunger for God, Seymour began fasting and praying. John G. Lake
recalled Seymours testimony during this period. In Seymours own words: Prior to
my meeting with Parham, the Lord had sanctified me from sin, and had led me into a
deep life of prayer, assigning 5 hours out of the 24, every day for prayer. This prayer
life I continued for 3 1/2 years, when one day as I prayed the Holy Ghost said to me,
there are better things to be had in the spiritual life, but they must be sought out
with faith and prayer. This so quickened my soul that I increased my hours of prayer
to 7 out of 24 and continued to pray on for 2 years longer, until the baptism fell on
us. On April 9, 1906, several members of the informal Bible study began to speak in
tongues. Lee asked Seymour to lay hands on him and pray. When Seymour laid
hands on Lee, he fell to the floor as a dead man. Jennie Moore, who later married
Seymour, spoke in six languages under the influence of the Spirit and played the
piano as she sang in tongues. On April 12, Seymour received his baptism in the Spirit,
falling to the floor like a dead man as he spoke in tongues.People coming off the
street came under the influence of the Spirit as they entered the house. Seymour
frequently preached from Mark 16 and Acts 2:4. He is said to have interpreted
Scripture literally as he spoke under the anointing of the Spirit. The crowds were
overwhelming and they were forced to move to a larger facility.
Therefore, we understand that effective intercession, as it relates to quantity and quality are
important. There used to be a saying, Great prayer, great powerLittle prayer, little power. No
prayer, no power! It is still applicable today.
WE MUST KNOW THE MAGNITUDE OF OUR WARFARE
Apostolic & Prophetic ministries, leaders and people are relentlessly targeted by the enemy for the
purpose of destroying, delaying, and distracting them from Gods purpose as well as His kingdom
agenda.

Lets read 1 Kings 20. We can learn a lot about the enemy and how relentless he is from this story in the
Bible.
Ben-Hadad Attacks Samaria
1 Now Ben-Hadad king of Aram mustered his entire army. Accompanied by thirty-two kings with their
horses and chariots, he went up and besieged Samaria and attacked it. 2 He sent messengers into the
city to Ahab king of Israel, saying, This is what Ben-Hadad says: 3 Your silver and gold are mine, and the
best of your wives and children are mine.
4 The king of Israel answered, Just as you say, my lord the king. I and all I have are yours.
5 The messengers came again and said, This is what Ben-Hadad says: I sent to demand your silver and
gold, your wives and your children. 6 But about this time tomorrow I am going to send my officials to
search your palace and the houses of your officials. They will seize everything you value and carry it
away.
7 The king of Israel summoned all the elders of the land and said to them, See how this man is looking
for trouble! When he sent for my wives and my children, my silver and my gold, I did not refuse him.
8 The elders and the people all answered, Dont listen to him or agree to his demands.
9 So he replied to Ben-Hadads messengers, Tell my lord the king, Your servant will do all you
demanded the first time, but this demand I cannot meet. They left and took the answer back to BenHadad.
10 Then Ben-Hadad sent another message to Ahab: May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely,
if enough dust remains in Samaria to give each of my men a handful.
11 The king of Israel answered, Tell him: One who puts on his armor should not boast like one who
takes it off.
12 Ben-Hadad heard this message while he and the kings were drinking in their tents, and he ordered
his men: Prepare to attack. So they prepared to attack the city.
Ahab Defeats Ben-Hadad
13 Meanwhile a prophet came to Ahab king of Israel and announced, This is what the LORD says: Do
you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know that I am the LORD.
14 But who will do this? asked Ahab.
The prophet replied, This is what the LORD says: The junior officers under the provincial commanders
will do it.
And who will start the battle? he asked.

The prophet answered, You will.
15 So Ahab summoned the 232 junior officers under the provincial commanders. Then he assembled
the rest of the Israelites, 7,000 in all. 16 They set out at noon while Ben-Hadad and the 32 kings allied
with him were in their tents getting drunk. 17 The junior officers under the provincial commanders went
out first.
Now Ben-Hadad had dispatched scouts, who reported, Men are advancing from Samaria.
18 He said, If they have come out for peace, take them alive; if they have come out for war, take
them alive.
19 The junior officers under the provincial commanders marched out of the city with the army behind
them 20 and each one struck down his opponent. At that, the Arameans fled, with the Israelites in
pursuit. But Ben-Hadad king of Aram escaped on horseback with some of his horsemen. 21 The king of
Israel advanced and overpowered the horses and chariots and inflicted heavy losses on the Arameans.
22 Afterward, the prophet came to the king of Israel and said, Strengthen your position and see
what must be done, because next spring the king of Aram will attack you again.
23 Meanwhile, the officials of the king of Aram advised him, Their gods are gods of the hills. That is
why they were too strong for us. But if we fight them on the plains, surely we will be stronger than they.
24 Do this: Remove all the kings from their commands and replace them with other officers. 25 You
must also raise an army like the one you losthorse for horse and chariot for chariotso we can fight
Israel on the plains. Then surely we will be stronger than they. He agreed with them and acted
accordingly.
26 The next spring Ben-Hadad mustered the Arameans and went up to Aphek to fight against Israel. 27
When the Israelites were also mustered and given provisions, they marched out to meet them. The
Israelites camped opposite them like two small flocks of goats, while the Arameans covered the
countryside.
28 The man of God came up and told the king of Israel, This is what the LORD says: Because the
Arameans think the LORD is a god of the hills and not a god of the valleys, I will deliver this vast army
into your hands, and you will know that I am the LORD.
29 For seven days they camped opposite each other, and on the seventh day the battle was joined. The
Israelites inflicted a hundred thousand casualties on the Aramean foot soldiers in one day. 30 The rest of
them escaped to the city of Aphek, where the wall collapsed on twenty-seven thousand of them. And
Ben-Hadad fled to the city and hid in an inner room.
31 His officials said to him, Look, we have heard that the kings of Israel are merciful. Let us go to the
king of Israel with sackcloth around our waists and ropes around our heads. Perhaps he will spare your
life.

32 Wearing sackcloth around their waists and ropes around their heads, they went to the king of Israel
and said, Your servant Ben-Hadad says: Please let me live.
The king answered, Is he still alive? He is my brother.
33 The men took this as a good sign and were quick to pick up his word. Yes, your brother Ben-Hadad!
they said. Go and get him, the king said. When Ben-Hadad came out, Ahab had him come up into his
chariot.
34 I will return the cities my father took from your father, Ben-Hadad offered. You may set up
your own market areas in Damascus, as my father did in Samaria.
Ahab said, On the basis of a treaty I will set you free. So he made a treaty with him, and let him go.
A Prophet Condemns Ahab
35 By the word of the LORD one of the company of the prophets said to his companion, Strike me with
your weapon, but he refused.
36 So the prophet said, Because you have not obeyed the LORD, as soon as you leave me a lion will kill
you. And after the man went away, a lion found him and killed him.
37 The prophet found another man and said, Strike me, please. So the man struck him and wounded
him. 38 Then the prophet went and stood by the road waiting for the king. He disguised himself with his
headband down over his eyes. 39 As the king passed by, the prophet called out to him, Your servant
went into the thick of the battle, and someone came to me with a captive and said, Guard this man. If
he is missing, it will be your life for his life, or you must pay a talent of silver. 40 While your servant was
busy here and there, the man disappeared.
That is your sentence, the king of Israel said. You have pronounced it yourself.
41 Then the prophet quickly removed the headband from his eyes, and the king of Israel recognized him
as one of the prophets. 42 He said to the king, This is what the LORD says: You have set free a man I
had determined should die.[c] Therefore it is your life for his life, your people for his people. 43
Sullen and angry, the king of Israel went to his palace in Samaria.
There are so many things that we can learn from the above passage.

They were apostolically commissioned and empowered by God to attack first.

Prophetic ministry revealed the mind of God, the battle plan and warned them to be prepared
for another attack at a later time.
You need to be spiritually organized and ordered when you are in warfare.
The enemy is bent on the destruction of Gods people and preventing kingdom agenda.
The enemy is not out to just hurt you. He wants to destroy you. He wants to rob the church of
all of its resources: children, money, family, joy, hope, etc.
Your resolve through the spirit must be greater than his.

Kingdom Living Global Ministries | Apostolic & Prophetic University| Apostolic & Prophetic Intercession Level 1

P age |8

The enemy doesnt take any prisoners.

You cannot compromise for peace. It doesnt work.
The resources of the enemy will always look greater than what the people of God are working
with. His army will always appear larger and fiercer.
He will always use intimidation as a weapon. He will verbally and mentally attack you with
insults and threats to wear you out so that you wont dare think of resisting him.
Never covenant with an enemy that has already been identified by God and you have been
instructed to destroy. He will always come back another day to finish you off. When he is
defeated he will try to change his approach as non-threatening, but his agenda has not changed,
only his method.
Even when the enemy changes his strategy, he is no match for God.
There are terrible consequences for you and future generations for failing to follow Gods
instructions in battle and in life.

PART II: DEVELOPING INTERCESSORY TEAM MINISTRY

An Intercessory Team can be a tremendous asset to a ministry, leader and the kingdom of God as a
whole. On the other hand, an intercessory team can also be one of the greatest entry points the
enemy can use to bring trouble and even total destruction to individuals, leaders, and the entire
ministry.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT OVERSEEING AN INTERCESSORY TEAM
The Visionary Carries the Greatest Responsibility. Therefore, the latitude given to the Intercessory Team
is to be determined by the Visionary (Senior Pastor, Apostle, or Founder).
He/she (visionary) should either give prayer focuses or assign an extremely mature and trusted leader to
organize the prayer and the meetings. The leader of your intercessory team should be someone with
whom you have a trusted relationship and who is well acquainted with your vision, mission and
mandate. They should be mature with good leadership skills and prophetic. [Note: I believe every
believer should be prophetic in nature. How else will we know what God is calling us to do or how to do
it?]
Caution: Never assign anyone to an intercessory team who you know is influenced by the spirit of
Jezebel. Additionally, keep them covered in prayer so that the spirit of Jezebel wont find a weak link
in your leader or team.
AS THE VISIONARYYOU MUST ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO CIRCUMCIZE YOUR HEART
Make sure you deal with the Ahab that may be in you. Every leader can be affected and/or influenced
by the spirit of Ahab. Jezebel cannot thrive without a leader who has the same characteristics as Ahab.
The characteristics of Ahab that allowed Jezebel to operate were as follows:
1.

He was an idolater. He was not consecrated. Pleasing himself was more important than
pleasing God.

2.

He was a gatekeeper that allowed anything into the kingdom because he was ruled his own
affections and passions.

3.

He made an unholy alliance with the enemies of God through his marriage to Jezebel.

4.

He tolerated the worship of foreign gods. He allowed Jezebel to set up altars to her idol gods.

5.

He abdicated his responsibility as King and relinquished his power to Jezebel .

6.

He had an anointing and an assignment that did not match his commitment or relationship to
God.

7.

He cooperated with evil by allowing himself to be seduced and manipulated by Jezebel. He was
being satisfied and felt very successful as a result, but the kingdom he was given to rule over
was being destroyed. [Note: outward success in a church is not an indicator that God is pleased
with your ministry. Just like with Ahab, the destruction of the house of Ahab was set for an

Kingdom Living Global Ministries | Apostolic & Prophetic University| Apostolic & Prophetic Intercession Level 1

P a g e | 10
appointed time by God. Until Gods timing is fulfilled things could appear to be going relatively
well. This is especially true when success is measured by how many people attend the church,
how much money is in the churchs bank account, and how much property is owned, as opposed
to whether the lives of the people in the ministry are being transformed, delivered and
empowered].
8.

He established false apostolic and prophetic ministry. He let Jezebel kill the prophets and set up
her own.

Creating an alliance with Jezebel did not serve the purposes of God but it definitely served Ahabs
personal agenda. The bottom line was that Ahab allowed Jezebel to do whatever she wanted. If he
stopped her, there would be repercussions that Ahab did not want to face. [Note: Is it not amazing that
human beings will make decisions to avoid temporal carnal losses, and as a result, end up receiving the
judgment of God?]
I have noticed through the years, that most Jezebels (male or female) make great leaders. They are
strong, influential, and impactful. They usually bring something to the table, so to speak, such as
money, prophetic gifting, loyalty, reliability and even friendship.
This is a spirit that is hard to detect at the beginning. Without the Holy Spirit you will not discern the
operation of Jezebel at work. You may only recognize this spirit after its fruit has manifested, when your
church is about to be split, you are losing your home and you are wondering how things got so out of
control. What makes this spirit so dangerous is that it brings you what you want in a package that is
hard to refuse. You can see this when Jezebel murdered Naboth to give Ahab his property. In 1 Kings 21
we read where Jezebel says to Ahab, "You now exercise authority over Israel! Arise, eat food, and let
your heart be cheerful; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite." She was partially right,
Ahab did have authority, but it was not meant for him to fulfill his personal desires in an unrighteous
way. She was so cunning, boosting up his little ego about his authority. But at the end of the day it
was Jezebel who arranged the murder of Naboth by using that same authority which Ahab relinquished
to her. She acted on behalf of the king. That is another trait of Jezebel, she will always act on behalf of
the senior leader and she will always over step God given her boundaries through familiarity with
leadership. This spirits actions are always couched in something that is beneficial for the leader or the
church. It is a seductive spirit and knows people very well. However, it is not about sexuality, it is
about power. Jezebel is a warrior, more of a warrior than Ahab. Ahab had the title, but Jezebel had the
heart for war. Dont ever forget that.
I have seen many a senior leader and their ministry destroyed because they were an Ahab and/or a
Jezebel. We must all check our hearts continually for any indications of the influence of one, or both
of these spirits. Anytime you want your will more than anything, and you are willing to control and
manipulate others, or allow others to be controlled and manipulated, Jezebel and Ahab are at work
and witchcraft is not far behind.

Kingdom Living Global Ministries | Apostolic & Prophetic University| Apostolic & Prophetic Intercession Level 1

P a g e | 11
What about her eunuchs?
Inevitably wherever you see Ahab and Jezebel, you will find Jezebels eunuchs. If you arent a Jezebel
and you are not an Ahab, dont be a eunuch either. Who are her eunuchs? These are the ones who
bring Jezebel the information she needs. They are her eyes and ears. They carry out her orders, plant
words into the hearts and minds of the people through conversation and inference. They are seduced,
blind and weak. But there is an anointing which shocks spiritual eunuchs into sobriety when their own
survival is truly at stake the eunuchs will throw Jezebel down to be dealt with by God. That is they will
see her for who she is and wont have anything to do with her, and she cannot operate without a
network. Many churches could have been saved if the senior leaders could skillfully break down her
network through the power of God. Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord.
The bible says that whoever does not give into the prevailing spirit of Jezebel will be given authority over
the nations. I believe this is because in order to conquer Jezebel, you must first conquer you. If you can
master yourself masterfully (by the grace given to those who are humble), you can rule. [Scripture: He
who has no control over his own spirit is like a city, broken down altogether and without walls.]
A person influenced by the spirit of Jezebel observes and adapts to be what you need. The person can
come in the form of the Minister of Music the church needs, Administrator, Business person, Prophet or
any human resource you have been praying for. She will always create a church within the church and
will gather her own disciples (eunuchs) around her. This is why you have to watch so carefully over your
Intercessory Team. She will always seek influence in the ministry of intercession because it has so much
impact and lends itself to the prophetic. She considers herself a prophet, but she hates for real
authentic genuine prophetic ministry to go forth because it accommodates Gods agenda. The only
prophetic utterances she is interested in are those that serve her own purposes.
Many people are influenced by this spirit and dont even know it. Rebellion [even short term rebellion],
insecurity and low self-esteem give this spirit a point of entry.
This is what the Bible says of Jezebel,
Rev. 2:18-29
18 "And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: The Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire,
and His feet are like burnished bronze, says this: 19 'I know your deeds, and your love and faith and
service and perseverance, and that your deeds of late are greater than at first. 20 'But I have {this}
against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and
leads My bond-servants astray, so that they commit {acts of} immorality and eat things sacrificed to
idols. 21 'And I gave her time to repent; and she does not want to repent of her immorality.
22 'Behold, I will cast her upon a bed {of sickness} and those who commit adultery with her into great
tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds. 23 'And I will kill her children with pestilence; and all the
churches will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts; and I will give to each one of you
according to your deeds. 24 'But I say to you, the rest who are in Thyatira, who do not hold this

teaching, who have not known the deep things of Satan, as they call them-- I place no other burden on
you. 25 'Nevertheless what you have, hold fast until I come. 26 'And he who overcomes, and he who
keeps My deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations; 27 and he shall rule them
with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to pieces, as I also have received {authority}
from My Father; 28 and I will give him the morning star. 29 'He who has an ear, let him hear what the
Spirit says to the churches.' (NAS)
CHOOSES YOUR TEAM MEMBERS WISELY
As an overseer, you have to choose the members of your intercessory team wisely. It is a ministry that
is targeted to be infiltrated by the enemy. Those who are really praying will experience a level of
opposition that will appear in their personal lives. They will have to be mentally and spiritually prepared
for opposition and even persecution. They should be consecrated and not living in known sin.
Habitual sin is an open door that will cause the enemy to exploit and torment them. If they are put on
the team before they are ready it could hinder their spiritual progress and actually be used to derail
their lives.
Intercessors are people who are burdened when they see a need, they love to pray and they love to
worship God. These are three key characteristics that you can use when identifying intercessors. [Note:
Intercessors are burdened to the point of action. If all they do is talk about it, they are probably not
called to the ministry of intercession.]
YOU SHOULD MAINTAIN SPIRITUAL OVERSIGHT WITHOUT BEING OVERBEARING
You should have the utmost respect for those who are on your team. They should not be on the team in
the first place if you question their maturity, loyalty or trustworthiness. Let them know you are
interested in what they are doing and meet with them so that you can be updated at intervals as to their
progress. During these meetings, you can share how the church and community are being impacted by
the ministry of intercession. It is also a time to give new instructions, new prayer focuses and correction
to the team as a whole, if necessary.
DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED
Do not be intimidated by intercessory team members, no matter what gifting they may have. Whether
they are prophetic, senior to you in age, or have great wisdom etc. it doesnt matter. You cannot
forget the vision was given to you and it was given to you for a reason. Many ministries fail because
they forsake the original mission and mandate given to them by God.
God will often surround leaders with extremely gifted people, but for some reason he made you the
steward of the vision. The steward [senior leader/founder] of a vision may not be the one most gifted
person in the ministry, but they are the one God has trusted with the assignment. If you ever forget
that it is you that God is going to hold totally responsible, you will run into problems.
WHAT TO DO WITH PROPHETIC WORDS YOU RECEIVE FROM THE TEAM OR TEAM MEMBERS
Any information you receive from your team through prophetic words, dreams or visions are not
DIRECTIONAL they are INFORMATIONAL. It is important that this concept is understood at the
beginning.

P a g e | 13
True intercessors are powerful and they are prophetic. Their set of giftings can make them particularly
susceptible to sins of the spirit [spiritual pride, vainglory, self-righteousness, religious, judgmental].
They have to know that even though they hear from God, it is never wrong for a leader not to act on
their prophetic words. God gives a visionary a broader picture and greater responsibility. It is alright to
shelf a word so to speak. Mature intercessors will understand that. When people start having a
problem with that, it is time for them to humble themselves before God or come off of the team.
It is important for everyone to understand the nature of prophetic ministry even when it comes to
intercessors. Prophetic ministry is never the whole picture. It is partial a piece of the puzzle. It does
not usually reveal the whole mind of God. God expects us to be in open communication with Him at all
times, so that he can refine, clarify, define and reveal how every prophetic word should be handled or
executed.

EXCELLENT CHRISTIAN VIRTUES

Above all else, emphasize the importance of good Christian virtues. I want to use William Seymour as an
example of someone we can see clearly was an intercessor and a leader with excellent Christian virtues.
Here is another excerpt on his life.
William Joseph Seymour, who served as the pastor of the Azusa Street Mission in Los Angeles from 1906
until his death, September 28, 1922, provides an excellent example of how many early Pentecostal
leaders functioned. By most accounts, Seymour was a quiet, unassuming, gentle man who was held in
high esteem by members of his congregation. Glenn Cook, the Missions staff manager during its earliest
years, described Seymour as the meekest man he had ever met.
The inclusive, egalitarian character of Seymours leadership style suggests that Seymours personality
was well suited for ministry to those he led at the Mission. They were one of the most racially inclusive,
culturally diverse groups to gather in the city of Los Angeles at that time. The mission included people
from many classes, male and female, black, white, Hispanic and Asian, the highly educated and the
illiterate, new converts, and highly trained longtime professionals in ministry.
For Seymour to successfully lead the mission he had to be personally vulnerable secure in who he was
and what he was about and provide a safe place for experimentation where new lessons could be
learned and judgments could be rendered without grave consequences.
Seymour supported the ministry of women at the Mission. He placed them in leadership positions,
assigning portfolios in preaching, evangelism, church planting, and world mission. He provided them
with ministerial credentials. As a result, women were used extensively in a range of mission activities
in preaching and exhortation, in prayer, in testimony meetings, in music, in developing evangelism and
outreach strategy, and elsewhere.
The social class from which parishioners came made no difference in their participation nor did
experience in professional ministry give anyone advanced standing. Seymour made sure the priesthood
of all believers was a reality rather than a mere theological ideal. Room was provided for children,
janitors, washerwomen, and recent converts each to contribute something to the community. Seymour

even gave space for his critics to make their case before his people. More than one critic jumped at the
chance to dress him down in front of them, but Seymour took it in stride, learned from it, and moved
on.
Seymours demeanor was disarming. Nothing seemed to disturb him. Cook observed, He would sit
behind that packing case [the pulpit] and smile at us until we were all condemned by our own activities.
Seymour was not vindictive, nor vitriolic, but was gentle, gracious, and soft-spoken. At the same time,
Seymour was capable of providing correction when needed.
Seymour was not a highly educated man, but he was sure of what he believed. He spent many hours in
prayer. He was not hesitant to voice his opinion on a subject.5 He was careful, however, to address a
subject only after critical self-evaluation or deep theological reflection. His willingness to be self-critical
and reflective meant his teaching and subsequently what he considered the legitimate boundaries of the
Missions religious experience might change. One example of this reflective, self-critical approach is
easily identifiable in Seymours comments on the subject of tongues.
When Seymours flock began to speak in tongues, questions arose concerning how this phenomenon
was supposed to work. As time went on, he suggested changes that moved his flock more in keeping
with where he understood the biblical writers to be.
Extreme behavior and disorderly manifestations of speaking in tongues were addressed in a similar
manner. In the early days of the Azusa Street revival, Seymour recounted, there were many times when
we all used to break out in tongues; but we had learned to be quieter with this gift.6 Such a confession
might have shaken some early Pentecostals with the fear that Seymour was quenching the freedom of
the Holy Spirit to speak through them.7 He pointed out, for we want to be obedient to the Word, that
everything may be done decently and in order without confusion.8 Change had come to make their
practice consistent with that described in the Word.
With such extremes properly addressed in this manner, Seymour essentially provided a model of
personal humility, love for the people, openness to correction, obedience to the Word, and
vulnerability. He could be wrong. He was open to learn and to change when necessary, and he expected
the same from his followers. Once he was convinced he was wrong, or his position was untenable in
light of his understanding of the Word, he confessed it publicly, acknowledged the change, and moved
on.
As the revival spread it was inevitable that new works, even works close enough in geographic proximity
to be considered competitive, would arise.9 A lesser man might have grumbled about their proximity or
the resulting proselytism that inevitably occurred. Seymour did not. Instead, he embraced them,
celebrated the spread of the revival, and advertised the other meetings. Seymour invited prayer on their
behalf, published testimonies provided by their leaders, preached in their churches, and invited their
participation in leadership at the Azusa Street Mission, even during his absence. He organized meetings
every Monday morning in which these leaders could gather for prayer, mutual support, counsel, and
Bible study. These meetings also served the revival for both short- and long-term strategic planning.
Kingdom Living Global Ministries | Apostolic & Prophetic University| Apostolic & Prophetic Intercession Level 1

P a g e | 15
Through these meetings, leaders coordinated the spread of the revival into outlying areas by taking
advantage of Los Angeles burgeoning streetcar system.10
These factors point to Seymour as a man with a measure of humility and self-control. He provided
effective leadership by modeling his commitment to a community of believers under the authority of
Scripture, rather than under a strong hierarchy or personal pride of place. Seymour seemed to
understand his role in leadership as one of empowering his people for the work of ministry, and his
people treated him with respect, love, and open signs of affection.
Conclusion
Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts (Zechariah 4:6) is a text to which
many Pentecostal preachers make appeal. They employ this text to encourage Pentecostal people to be
led completely by the Holy Spirit. It is also a text that sets the standard for Pentecostal leadership
regardless of the venue.
Like those in other religious traditions, Pentecostals are an imperfect people. They, too, are tempted to
follow the crowd, to seek acceptance, and at times, to compromise their ideal. Still the ideal stands,
You shall receive power (Acts 1:8), and the consistency with which Pentecostals are reminded of that
ideal, and the effectiveness of the appeal, and the willingness of Pentecostal people to own that ideal all
contribute substantially to the kind of leadership that emerges within the Pentecostal movement. This is
a never-ending task, and one that surely shows mixed results at the end of the Movements first century
of existence. One need only be reminded of how the Baptist Bible translator, A.S. Worrell, came to view
the leadership of William J. Seymour after visiting the Azusa Street Mission in 1906, to recognize that
true Pentecostal leadership is possible only if one recognizes and submits to the application of
Zechariahs prophecy to the person who leads.
The writer has not a single doubt but that Brother Seymour has more power with God, and more power
from God, than all his critics in and out of the city. His strength is in his conscious weakness, and
lowliness before God; and so long as he maintains this attitude, the power of God will, no doubt,
continue to flow through him.11

Leadership.

PART III: INTERCESSION

GOD SEEKS INTERCESSORS
And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach [broken
places] before me for the land that I should not destroy it, but I found none. Ezekiel 22;30 English
Standard Version
The Lord calls on many of us at diverse times to intercede on behalf of others. We do not always make
ourselves available. This is a sad commentary. Let us ask the Lord to deliver us from self-centeredness,
hardheartedness and apathy so that we can be available to the spirit of prayer that is longing to be
released into the hearts of Gods people. We are agents of change, sent ones (apostolic). When we
allow ourselves to be captivated as intercessors we will experience tremendous victory corporately and
individually.
THE GREATEST INTERCESSOR
God as our Father, Jesus Christ, as our Savior and the Holy Spirit as our Comforter represent the greatest
example of intercession the world will ever know. If we are going to understand intercession, we must
first be acquainted with the Great Intercessor. Jesus as our mediator shows us in every way the ultimate
goal of all intercession which is reconciliation. The Divine intercession of Jesus Christ brought fallen
man back to a loving God. This reconciliation included restoration of what was lost in the garden as well
as the power to be realigned with Gods particular divine purpose and plan for each of our lives.
Intercessory prayer lays hold of the redemptive purpose of God for people, cities, churches, church
leaders and the nation and prays through until the answer manifests in earth realm.
Based on Jesus as our example, we can see that intercession requires: abandonment, submission and
sacrifice. Apart from God, it is totally not in mans nature to express the unselfishness that is required
for intercession.
By breaking down the meaning of the word intercession as it was used in the Old and New Testament,
we can come to an understanding of the fullness of the meaning of the word. Many of us think of the
word intercession as doing the work of mediation on behalf of another, which it is. However,
mediation can take on many forms of expression.
WHAT IS INTERCESSION?
Meaning of the word "Intercession"
Webster's Dictionary defines 'intercession' as 'the act of mediating between two parties with a view to
bring reconciliation'. In this we can readily see the Biblical concept.
The Hebrew word in The Old Testament is 'paga', meaning 'to make intercession; to meet; to fall upon;
to cause to place upon; to strike a boundary'.
1. "To strike a boundary" - "And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached (paga)
to Dabbasheth, and reached (paga) to the river that is before Jokneam..." - Joshua 19:11. Here 'paga' is
Kingdom Living Global Ministries | Apostolic & Prophetic University| Apostolic & Prophetic Intercession Level 1

P a g e | 17
used throughout Joshua, chapters 17 through 19, in a simple yet powerful way; to denote and describe
in detail the boundaries of the inheritance of each of the tribes of Israel. It was only through God's help,
empowerment, and intervention (in a sense, intercession) that Israel could defeat the enemy and claim
possession of The Promised Land.
2. "To meet" - "Thou meetest (paga) him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that
remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we
shall be saved." - Isaiah 64:5. The important goal of 'paga' is not just to possess the inheritance, but to
'meet' and know the One Who granted the inheritance.
3. "To fall upon" - "Then Zebah and Zalmunna said, Rise thou, and fall upon (paga) us: for as the man is,
so is his strength. And Gideon arose, and slew Zebah and Zalmunna, and took away the ornaments that
were on their camels' necks." - Judges 8:21. 'Paga' is used here in the context as 'falling upon' the
enemy, not just for oneself, but on behalf of others as well.
4. "Intercession" - "Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with
the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the
transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession (paga) for the transgressors." - Isaiah
53:12. As you read Isaiah 53:1-12, you will recognize it as a prophecy of the coming Messiah, Jesus
Christ. "He hath poured out His soul unto death" on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for our sins;
bearing our sins upon Himself in our place. He accepted and bore the wages of sin that we deserved. In
this one act of love, He is "The Great Intercessor". The pouring out of His blood on the cross is the Great
Act of Mediation through which we are reconciled to God. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in
that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood,
we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God
by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life." - Romans 5:8-10.
5. "To cause to place upon" - "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own
way; and the LORD hath laid (paga) on him the iniquity of us all." - Isaiah 53:6. It was The Father Who
placed our iniquities, or sins, upon His own Son as an act of Love. From the foundation of the world and
the beginning of time God, the Father, knowing that the horrible death on the cross of His Son was the
only price that could purchase your salvation, pictured you in His mind and said, 'You're worth it!'. And
God, the Son said, 'Yes and Amen. I'll go!' That is "Intercession".
All of these various translations of 'paga' (translations determined by the subject of the context) are
fulfilled in Jesus Christ by His act of "intercession" on the cross and His triumphant Resurrection from
the grave. His intercession by taking our place on the cross is clear and wonderful. It is through His death
on the cross and by the shedding of His blood that we are justified and reconciled to God (Romans 5:810). But it is also through His 'Intercession', or His 'Paga', that the unlimited boundaries of our
inheritance are set. We are blessed in Him "with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places" (Ephesians
1:3). He is the One Who "is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think" (Ephesians
3:20). His intercession on the cross has made possible our access to 'meet' God The Father at His Throne
of Grace to have fellowship with Him and to receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (see 1

John 1:3 and Hebrews 4:16). And by His death and resurrection He has interceded for us against the
enemy; "falling upon" and crushing him and conquering death itself on our behalf (see 1 Corinthians
15:25-26). Because He lives, we live! All thanks, praise, honor, and glory be to our Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ..."The Great Intercessor"!
The Word Intercession in the New Testament
The Greek word translated 'intercession' is 'entygchano', meaning 'to light upon; meet, especially for the
purpose of conversation, consultation, or supplication; to make intercession on behalf of another'. This
Greek word occurs six times in The New Testament. It is used in Acts 25 by Festus as he appeared before
King Agrippa concerning The Apostle Paul, whom the Jews had handed over to be put to death. The Jews
were basically asking Festus to 'intercede' and pass judgment on Paul. "...ye see this man, about whom
all the multitude of the Jews have dealt (entygchano) with me..." - Acts 25:24. Another occurrence is in
Romans 11:2, in which Paul makes reference to Elias entreating God concerning Israel, "...Wot not what
the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession (entygchano) to God against Israel..."
The other occurrences of intercession (entygchano) speak directly to the work of Christ and The Holy
Spirit in our lives as children of God.
1. "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we
ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he
that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for
the saints according to the will of God." - Romans 8:26-27
2. "Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the
right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." - Romans 8:34
3. "And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also
to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession
for them." - Hebrews 7:23-25
As Christians, we have both Jesus Christ, our risen Lord and Savior, and the Holy Spirit, our Comforter,
making intercession to the Father. They are in continual conversation, consultation, and supplication in
perfect harmony with The Father's will on your behalf. When we are not sure what to pray for, we can
be sure The Holy Spirit is interceding for us with words that are God's will. Jesus Christ is not only the
Atoning Sacrifice for our sins, bringing reconciliation between God and us; but He is also our High Priest,
who "ever liveth to make intercession" for us.
This concept of "intercession" is inseparable from the concept of the Greek word "paracletos", meaning
"one summoned and called to one's side and aid; intercessor; one who pleads another's cause before a
judge; counsel for the defense".
In John 14:26 "Paracletos" is "The Comforter", The Holy Spirit. In 1 John 2:1 "Paracletos" is our
"Advocate", "Jesus Christ The Righteous": who appears before The Father - "My little children, these

things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus
Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation (atoning sacrifice) for our sins: and not for our's only, but
also for the sins of the whole world." - 1 John 2:1-2.
As the 'accuser of the brethren' (Revelation 12:10) the adversary comes before God against us, just as he
did concerning Job, we have Jesus Christ as our defense attorney, and our Heavenly Father is the judge.
This trial is short; for the fix is in...Christ pleads on our behalf, the Father sees the blood of His Son, and
declares, "Not guilty!" Allelujia!
KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER ABOUT INTERCESION
Intercession is necessary. We are in the midst of a crisis of major proportions that is affecting
our children, families, community, churches, nation and the world.
Intercession requires power. The only power and authority the enemy respects is that which is
conferred upon us through our relationship to Jesus Christ and the amount of revelation we
have of Him in our Spirits along with the intelligence and fire of the Holy Spirit.
Intercession requires divine wisdom.
Intercession requires love.
Intercession brings the will of heaven down to earth.
Intercession destroys the work of the devil.

THE HOLY GHOST EMPOWERS US TO INTERCEDE

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit
himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. Romans 8:26

It is impossible to be an effective intercessor without the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, that we do not
know what to pray as we ought, but the Holy Spirit intercedes through us with groans that cannot be
[uttered] expressed. What is actually being said is that the Holy Spirit, the paraclete (Comforter) comes
along side us while we are praying. He then lays hold with us against the enemy. When you have
that as a mental picture you can appreciate the scripture that says, greater is He that is in you than He
that is in the world. We should never lose sight of the fact that we have the Greater One living on the
inside and He is helping us. Even when we are at the extremity of our weakness, not know what we are
up against, the Holy Spirit, Who is more than formidable as a foe [enemy to our enemies], makes up the
hedge [broken places] in us so that we can pray powerfully.

PART IV: INTERCESSORS

THE MINISTRY OF INTERCESSION
Everyone in the Body of Christ is called to pray. However, there is a ministry of intercession. It relates
to ones personal assignment. Intercessors are especially anointed and graced to persevere in prayer
until Gods will is established on earth, in whatever area they are assigned to pray. When you are
engaged in the ministry of intercession, your prayer assignments come from the Holy Spirit. They
dont come out of your head because you see a need. It is good to pray when we see a need, but that
is not necessarily intercession. When you spend a long time praying for things you are not anointed to
pray for you can become battle weary and fatigued. It can pull you away from something you really
are anointed and assigned to do. Team intercession is also specific. Times of intercession are based on
what the Holy Spirit moves on your spirit to pray for. It comes as a burden or a weight that is only
relieved when you pray it through. It can take seconds, hours, days, weeks, months or years.
We are living in the end-times and I believe God is putting divine acceleration on everything we do.
What used to take years can happen in a much shorter period of time for those of us who are serious
about the move of God in our families, cities, churches, nation and the world.
There have been many great intercessors in the Bible and throughout history. Those whose prayers
were catalytic; igniting the hearts of men, delivering those who were backslidden; redeeming the lost;
shaking the heavens to such an extent that it changed cities, nations and the world.
Apostolic and prophetic intercessors are anointed to impact and penetrate the heavenlies with prayer
so as to effect what manifests on earth. Along with their ability to pray powerfully under the unction of
the Holy Spirit, they have confidence in their ability to hear what God is saying.
HOW TO INCREASE THE ANOINTING ON YOUR LIFE FOR INTERCESSION
You must be extremely Jesus focused. You need a revelation of Jesus Christ that comes by
giving Him your full attention (spirit, soul and body). Looking away [from all that distracts us],
unto Jesus, Who is the author and finisher of our faith. Scripture: fixing our eyes on Jesus,
the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the
shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
You must live a fasted life. Fasting is a spiritual weapon that makes our prayers like guided
missiles. Fasting with prayer, subdues the activity of the flesh and increases the power of your
spirit to lay hold of the faith required for what you are praying for. Scripture: "Is not this the
kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to
set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Isaiah 58:6
You must have a pure heart and motives. Intercessors must walk closely with the Lord in order
to be effective. That requires a pure heart. You dont have to be perfect. He is perfecting those
things that you concern you. But you do want to keep your heart pure before him through the
power of the Holy Spirit. Scripture: Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his
holy place? Psalm 24:3.

Kingdom Living Global Ministries | Apostolic & Prophetic University| Apostolic & Prophetic Intercession Level 1

P a g e | 21

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you, you. Jeremiah 17:9 says, The heart is deceitful above all things,
and it is exceedingly perverse and corrupt and severely, mortally sick! Who can know it [perceive,
understand, be acquainted with his own heart and mind]? Scripture: How can I know all the sins
lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Psalm 19:12
Grow in your ability to pray in tongues for long periods of time. Praying in tongues builds up
your spirit man. Many of us are too weak to pray because we live out of the strength of our
souls (will, intellect and emotions). Prayer requires the involvement of your spirit, soul and
body. But your soul and body will never want to pray in and of themselves. You need your spirit
to be strong so that it can dictate and command the cooperation of your soul and body for
effective prayer. James 5:16 says, the earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man
makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. Elijah was a human being with a
nature such as we have [with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours]; and he prayed
earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell on the earth for three years and six months. [I Kings
17:1.] And [then] he prayed again and the heavens supplied rain and the land produced its crops
[as usual]. [I Kings 18:42-45.]
Learn not to judge after the seeing of your eyes or the hearing of your ears. Isaiah 11:3b says,
And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, neither decide by the hearing of His ears;
Guard your mouth, sweet and bitter water does not flow from the same fountain (James 3:11).
The same mouth that prays and intercedes should not be the same mouth that criticizes, curses
and grumbles. Proverbs 4:24 says, Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful
and contrary talk put far from you. The Bible also says, When there are many words,
transgression is unavoidable, but he who restrains his lips is wise. Proverbs 10:9. Sometimes
just talking too much can take you out of the spirit and into your flesh.
Guard your heart. Proverbs 4:23 says, Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all
that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life. When our hearts are left unguarded,
bitterness and offense will find a place to root. Offense, or being offended, will separate you
from God and his people. It is a trick of the enemy to delay your spiritual progress and cause
you to become stagnate.
Have discernment that proceeds out of a pure heart. Discernment is the ability to see into the
intents, motives and source of what it taking place. This is discerning of spirits. Many people
say that they can discern others motives. But true discernment has to proceed from a pure
heart. Meaning, you cannot discern what spirit is motivating someone else until you can first
discern what is motivating you. When Jesus was rejected by the Samaritans, James and John
wanted to call fire down from heaven to destroy them, but Jesus discerned the spirit that was
motivating them. Luke 9:55 says, but he turned and rebuked them, and said, ye know not what
manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy mens lies, but to save
them.
Ask the Holy Spirit to divide asunder spirit from soul, so that you can tell the difference when
you are motivated by one or the other. Hebrews 4:12, for the word of God is living and active.
Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and
marrow; it judges the thoughts [intents and purposes] and attitudes of the heart.

Kingdom Living Global Ministries | Apostolic & Prophetic University| Apostolic & Prophetic Intercession Level 1

P a g e | 22

Ask the Lord for an excellent spirit to be found in you, just as in Daniel. Daniel 5:12 says,
Inasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles,
and explaining enigmas were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, now let
Daniel be called, and he will give the interpretation.
Meet God in the inner court, above the mercy seat, between the two cherubim. Exodus 25:22
says, And there, between the two winged ones on the cover of the ark, I will come to you, face
to face, and make clear to you all the orders I have to give you for the children of Israel. [Basic
English Bible].
Know the weightiness of the responsibility and take it seriously. Exodus 22:30 says, "I looked for
a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of
the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. [NIV]
Deal with pride. Pride comes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. In the book
of Job we learn that Leviathan is the king to all who are prideful]. He sees everything that is high;
he is king over all the sons of pride. Job 41:34. This is a spirit we do not want to contend with.
That is for another lesson. The Bible says that it is Gods sword that deals with Leviathan. But
notice how the Word says that Leviathan sees all who are proud. If we want to stay off of his
radar, we will stay low. God help us all!
Recognize that your carnal mind cannot perceive the things of God. 1 Corinthians 2: 14. Let the
Holy Spirit be your teacher. He knows each one of us intimately. There are things you need to
know that only the Holy Spirit can teach you. I call it the School of the Holy Spirit. But the
Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and
will remind you of everything I have said to you. John 14:26
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Show by your good life that your works are done
with gentleness born of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your
hearts, do not be boastful and false to the truth. 15 Such wisdom does not come down from
above, but is earthly, unspiritual, devilish. 16 For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there
will also be disorder and wickedness of every kind.
Love wisdom and she will exalt you. James 3: 13-17 says, But the wisdom from above is first
pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of
partiality or hypocrisy. 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make
peace.
Be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove. Humility is conducive to wisdom. Never under
estimate the adversary, Be sober, be vigilant and most of all dependent upon the Holy Spirit to
allow you to see what is going on around you. 1 Peter 5:8 says, Be of sober spirit, be on the
alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Your greatest strength is your greatest weaknesses. Dont rely on your strength. Paul said, that
is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in
difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10.

comfortable. Possess the land, maintain the victory by fully occupying it with continued and
ongoing watchful and sustaining prayer.

Intercession is never convenient

True intercession is never convenient. It is a hidden work. When you are an intercessor the Holy Spirit
may move on you to pray at the most inconvenient times. While you are watching television, about to
sit down to a good meal, on the phone with a friend. Suddenly, you may start to feel a tug to pull away
unto the Lord and make yourself available for prayer. It will require discipline to obey. But failure to
obey could result in failed prayer assignment. It could cause someone their spiritual or natural life,
their ministry; their marriage so much is at stake.
ABOUT THE MIND OF CHRIST & SEVEN FOLD SPIRIT OF GOD
The importance of having the Mind of Christ
You can never solve a problem by thinking on the level of the problem. You need a new mind to be an
effective intercessory. You need the Mind of Christ.
And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him--the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of
counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord
Isaiah 11:2
The Seven Fold Spirit of God found in Isaiah 11:2 gives us the Mind of Christ.
Spirit of the Lord is the supernatural power source that creates Gods Thoughts in our hearts.
Spirit of Wisdom is all of Gods supernatural Thoughts themselves
Spirit of Counsel is Gods personal instructions for Godly choices
Spirit of Strength is Gods supernatural ability to perform those Thoughts in our lives.
Spirit of Knowledge is experiencing Gods Life (His Thoughts) in place of our own.
Fear of the Lord is walking in Gods Love and truth, fleeing anything that would quench His Spirit.
The divine seven-fold process of thinking called the Mind of Christ begins with the Spirit of the Lord (at
the core of our being), who desires to impart to us, not only all of Gods supernatural thoughts (his
wisdom); but also understanding of those Thoughts; counsel as to which of those Thoughts are
appropriate for our lives; personal experiential knowledge of seeing those Thoughts manifested in our
life actions; and lastly, the ability to walk in the Fear of the Lord (and not the fear of man), by fleeing
anything that would quench His Spirit in us.
The Spirit of the Lord is illustrated in the Jewish Menorah. The Spirit of the Lord is the trunk or the
center core of the lampstand, and then all the other six functions (capabilities, attributes) branch out
from itthe Spirit of wisdom, the Spirit of Understanding, The Spirit of Counsel, the Spirit of Might, the

Spirit of Knowledge and the Fear of the Lord. So yes, the Spirit is all one (because its the Holy Spirit),
but with six different capabilities or functions or attributesbehold a candlestick all of gold, and his
seven lamps thereon Zechariah 4:2.
It is the Holy Spirit, with our consent, that produces this mind in us, so that we can think right and
subsequently live right and pass the reality of the gospel on to others.
It is important to understand that this divine conceptual process called the Mind of Christ does not
automatically occur in our lives. Only as we renew our minds by putting off the garbage in our
thinking, are we able to receive from the holy Spirit, not only Gods agape Love, but also his Mind.
Should we choose not to renew our minds, then we will quench gods Spirit in our hearts, and His Love
and His Mind will be blocked and prevented from coming forth.
The Purpose of the Mind of Christ
This phenomenal gift of the holy Spirit called the Mind of Christ was not just given to Jesus Christ and a
few chose men in the Bible, but 1 Corinthians 2 tells us that it was bestowed upon each of us the
moment we believe and accept Christ into our hearts. This Scripture also tells us that the whole purpose
of the Mind of Christ , is that we might knowintimately experiencethe things freely given to us by
God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know
the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which mans
wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Spirit teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the
natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can
he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he
himself is judged of no man. For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we
have the Mind of Christ 1 Corinthians 2:12-16
God wants us to intimately know these truths because He wants us to be able to judge everything that
happens to us, not through our own eyes (our own mind), but through His Mind, through His wisdom,
His Counsel, and His knowledge.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR INTERCESSORY TEAM MEMBERS
Always spend time in repentance, cover yourselves with the blood and have a time of worship
before you go into intercession whether you are at home or at the Intercessory Prayer Meeting.
The Glory of God that is released during times of worship is enough to wreak total havoc in the
enemys camp and dismantle whatever was on his agenda.
Keep a journal so that you can write down what you hear or see during your times of
intercession. Intercession lends itself to the prophetic. If you are speaking to God, He is
definitely going to speak back to you. Share whatever the Holy Spirit leads you to share with the
designated person.
If you are on the Intercessory Team attend the intercessory prayer meetings. If there is prayer
going on at the church, you should be the first ones to be there.

Make yourself accountable to leadership when you absolutely cannot attend by letting them
know you wont be there.
Always be on time for your intercessory prayer meetings.

PITFALLS TEAM/TEAM MEMBERS SHOULD AVOID

Dont have any secret meetings that the apostle/pastor of the ministry has not approved to
discuss anything.
When you are coming together for intercession that is what you are supposed to be doing. Be
careful that you dont use it as a time of fellowship or talking about things not pertaining to
prayer. Come to the meeting already prayed up. Allow the leader to lead as they are moved
upon by the Holy Spirit.
Dont get on the phone and discuss what you are hearing in your prayer time about the ministry
and or its leaders.
Dont neglect your families, duties and obligations because you have to pray.
Dont be given to gossip, being opinionated, critical or judgmental.
Dont become lifted up in pride and start to think you are more anointed and know more than
your apostle/pastor/leader.
Honor one another. When discrepancies arise of any kind, dont talk about them to each other.
Go to your prayer closet before you speak. Most of the time, we are the problem or its a
situation that God will fix Himself without your intervention. If you have to speak, make
absolutely sure you have the heart and the mind of God on the matter. You never want to be a
part of the problem. You always want to be a part of the solution.
Dont be loose in your behavior. Be an example of humility and servanthood to your family,
leader and those around you.
Escape all comparisons. Dont compare yourself to anyone else in any way. Be free from all
envy, jealousy and competition.
Dont use the ministry of intercession as a way to build your self-esteem. When you use
ministry to make you feel significant or good about yourself it will produce selfish-ambition
which will rob you of lasting fruit.
Dont fall in love with the gift. Dont be amazed by prophetic words, dreams and visions and
allow yourself to become puffed up or drawn away from the giver. Sometimes, your gift will
separate you from God if you are not careful. Colossians 2:18-19 says, Let no one defraud you
by acting as an umpire and declaring you unworthy and disqualifying you for the prize, insisting
on self-abasement and worship of angels, taking his stand on visions [he claims] he has seen,
vainly puffed up by his sensuous notions and inflated by his unspiritual thoughts and fleshly
conceit, And not holding fast to the Head, from Whom the entire body, supplied and knit
together by means of its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God. You can
become hyper-spiritual and super flakey. Dont do it. Receiving dreams and visions does not
make you mature. Notice Colossians says, it is holding fast to the Head [Jesus Christ] that causes
you to really grow and develop spiritually.

Love God, Love your Senior Leader and the leadership. Love one another. Love yourself! John
17:11 says, Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so
that they may be one as we are one. Loving God and loving others is the environment where
oneness can be achieved, that is kingdom advancement in its highest expression.

The Ministry of Intercession: A Prophetic Word

"You are called to stand as a minister at my altar. You are called to stand in-between Heaven and earth
praying, asking for the remission of sin, asking God to grant mercy, to be kind and merciful to his people
and to his Church.."
Just by way of explanation, the Lord Jesus had many, many ministries that he performed. He functioned
in healing, he functioned in preaching, he functioned in teaching, he functioned in prophecy, and you
see the reflections of these ministries in the church as one man stands in the pulpit and he preaches.
That is the preaching ministry of Christ being exemplified to the church. Another will come along and he
will teach.
But there is what I call the hidden ministries of Christ. One of them is intercession. It is as valid a
ministry in the church as preaching in the pulpit. It is a valid expression of the ministry of Christ and
there are those who are called even as full-time ministers unto me to intercede, to pray, to worship, to
fulfill that expression of Christ's ministry. For what the Lord Jesus did during the day, he got at night. He
drew aside and he sought the Heavenly Father and he interceded and he prayed and he called on God,
and he called on God, and he called on God, and he called on God and the next day he would go forward
and he would do the things the Father showed him.
You are called into intercession. You are called to stand as a minister at my altar. Harp and Bowl, saith
the Lord, praise, worship, prayer. You are called to stand in-between Heaven and earth, standing in the
gap interceding, praying, asking for the remission of sin, asking God to grant mercy, asking God to be
kind and merciful to his people and to his Church, interceding for the things that come upon you for the
nations, for the soldiers that are at battle, for the politicians that are leading the country, for the
preachers who are in the pulpit.
Intercession is a very, very important part of my Church, and you are called, saith the Lord, you are
called, saith the Lord as any man who stands in the pulpit you are called unto full-time intercession
in my House. Come, saith God. Take your calling seriously. Prepare yourself. Study to show yourself
approved. Study the great intercessors in the Scriptures: Study those who knelt before me. Study
Daniel. Study Job. He offered sacrifices for his friends for perhaps they had sinned; he interceded.
Daniel interceded for his people and confessed their sins. Moses interceded. Jesus interceded.
Do not say that I am just little and no one will notice. For I tell you, heaven will take notice of you.
Angels will lift their ears when your voice comes up. You are important, saith the Lord. You are
important, saith the Lord. You are important, saith the Lord. The day when the intercessory ministry
will be described as a little or a small thing is over. I'm going to bring to the forefront apostles, prophets
and intercessors and I'm going to set them in the lead, saith God. I tell you, the day is coming when you
won't be able to get your hands on an intercessor. They are going to be such a valuable commodity.

P a g e | 27
Intercession is going to be valued highly in the coming days. Understand what I am saying to you - the
analogy. Intercession is going to become big, very big. Buy stock in it now. Take options, saith the Lord.
Develop your calling. Study to show yourself approved. Submit to those that have advanced knowledge
and learn all that you can learn and come unto Me and I will teach you and I will show you, and then
take what I've shown you and taught you and check it with those around you. But begin to press in
because you have a full-time calling, full-time calling from your Father in Heaven.
You are not a lesser saint. There is no such thing as a lesser saint. There is no such thing as a lesser
ministry. If you'll listen to me, you're going to get excited. If you listen to them, you're going to get
depressed. Listen to me, saith the Lord. There is no such thing as a lesser saint. There is no such thing
as a lesser calling. The widow woman who put two mites in the temple coffers - who is remembered?
The Pharisee or the widow woman? I tell you it was the widow woman. I do not see things the way you
see them.
Listen to me. Youre valuable; you are extremely valuable to the Kingdom. Don't let them beat you
down. Don't let them tell you that you are just a little stone. I've built my House upon this rock of
Intercession and it will not be moved. Lift up your head. Begin to say, I am something in God. I have a
calling from God. I have a fulfillment to fulfill from God Almighty. I am important. There is something
to my existence. I am not a nothing person.
Oh, come away with me, my beloved. We will move heaven and earth together. You have no idea what
I will grant through your intercession. You have no idea what your Heavenly Father wants to do as you
look up into his face and whisper, "Oh Father, can't you help them? Oh, Father, isn't there anything that
can be done for them? Oh, when my children cry unto me, oh, it moves my heart. Oh, I'm touched,
saith the Lord. I am touched. I am touched. I will move. Elisha, Elisha - remember the principles there a man of like passion that he prayed.
Oh, I am calling you to sit on my lap and talk to me. That will be your prayer closet - my lap. And I want
you to look into my face and I want you to talk to me about the things that are on your heart. You don't
have to scream; you don't have to yell. You just sit and we'll talk and when you make requests, I'm
going to weigh them, and when you cry I'm going to wipe those tears from your face.
And I'm going to hear you, saith the Lord. I've chosen to hear you. I've chosen you to hear you. I want
to hear from you everyday. For long periods, I want you to talk to me. I want you to tell me what
bothers you. I want you to tell me who you want me to help. I want to help people. I want to go
forward and I want to help people. Will you talk to me? Will you move my heart? Will you move my
hand? Move my heart that you may move my hand, saith the Lord. I will move on your behalf.
Oh, it is God working with man, with woman. Oh, come, come, talk, contend with me, saith the Lord.
Plead with me. Make a deal with me, saith God. "Oh, perchance, God, if there are twenty in the city, will
you spare it? God, if there are ten in this city, will you spare it?"

Kingdom Living Global Ministries | Apostolic & Prophetic University| Apostolic & Prophetic Intercession Level 1

P a g e | 28
Talk to me, saith the Lord. Let's make a deal. I want to talk to you. I want to hear from you. I want to
know what you think. I am interested in what you're interested in. Oh, bring your petitions before the
Lord. Bring your petitions. They'll bubble up out of your heart. The Holy Ghost will give you things.
He'll give you hours of intercession. There are so many things, so many things that are on the mind of
the Spirit. You will pray them through. You don't have to think all this stuff up. I'll even supply the
intercession, saith the Lord, but come and commune with me that I may bless you. Come and commune
with me that you may partner with me in Salvation. I want you to partner with me. I want you to be
part of what I do.
I'm giving you a job, an assignment in me, and I'm giving you a reason to exist and to get up and to come
forward and to be important in the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God does not reside in the carnal
mind of men. Listen to me; listen to me very closely. This is a secret of the Kingdom. Open your ears
and hear what I am about to say. The Kingdom of God does not reside in the carnal mind of men and
whether or not you are important in their sight. The Kingdom of God is ethereal. It is the Angels. It is
God Almighty. It is the Son, the Father, the Holy Ghost, and you will become extremely important in
that realm.
When I tell you that youre going to be important in the Kingdom of God, you will be important in
Heavenly places in the Kingdom of God! Not so much in the kingdom of men, but that doesn't matter;
it's flesh; it doesn't matter what these people think. They couldn't even spot the Lord Jesus. They
thought he was a carpenter and a loser! They didn't know the fullness of the godhead dwelt in him.
And oh, what's dwelling in you tonight? What's down in there? The Angels know. The Holy Ghost
knows. Heaven knows.
Come on, talk to me. Tell me of the things that are in your spirit. Become great and large in the
Kingdom of God. No one has to know how big you are. No one has to know how large you've grown,
but I tell you, all of heaven will know. You will be big in my kingdom. You will be great in my kingdom,
and men won't even know who you are. But they don't need to know. I will blind their eyes to it, even,
that you may prosper and grow without being molested by others who would use you, and use your
calling and your gifting. They'll leave you alone, because they won't think there's anything there, and
you'll be free to do all the things that I call you to do because they won't be trying to con you all the time
and use your ministry for their purposes. So there's a blessing in being hidden, believe me.
Oh, you're special to me; you are special to me; you are very special to me and I want you to know how
special you are. Come unto me. I'm going to give you some out of the body experiences. I'm going to
bring you up into my throne room. I am going to have communion with you. I want you, saith the Lord.
I want you; I want you; I want you; I want you; I want you. I will bring you up to my throne. I will have
communion with you. I will talk to you. I will meet with you. Come, sit on my lap.
The only thing between you and me is your free will. Will you come? Will you set time aside and come
unto me? I'll show you the wonders of the universe. I'll speak to you. We'll have a good time, saith
God. I'll put joy in your heart and laughter and I'll take the worry lines out of your face. I'll put peace in
your heart and I'll be your father. I'll be good to you. I'll look over you. I will be jealous over you. I will

watch over you. Many times the throne room of God is empty because no one comes! They stand and
they shout, but they don't come. Come unto me, saith the Lord.
Words from the Father by Don Franklin @ CHC Prophetic Gathering 09/2003
[Point of Clarification: Reference to out of body experiences in the prophetic word above. Dont covet out of body experiences. Covet to be
close to God. It is the Holy Spirit moving upon you and in you that will determine the spiritual experiences you may have or may not have.
Dont desire anything more than that. It could invite serious trouble. God will make Himself known to the hungry heart. In any way that he
does it will be tremendous and beneficial to your spirit.
