2. Plot

Introduction

Dr. Yuck always felt that he was made for better t

hings. He think that he was the most articulate person,
good-looking man, extremely well-read and very good

doctor.
However he felt upset that all the peoples there were
always in rude health and never needed his services.
They also preferred the services of the General Hospital
which is free and sometimes preferred the traditional

village doctor to Dr. Yuck.

The clinic wasnt making as much money as he would
have liked it. Luckily his family never starve. His began
wonder if his clinic was cursed. His mother thought it
was a diabolical plot to run away from his relatives.

Rising Action

He decided that he had to move out and start all over

again. Maybe in his own village. After that moment, Dr.
Yucks new clinic in Molo also turned out to be a

shophouse, overlooking the marketplace.

The opening of Yucks clinic was really the talk of the

town.
The second talk of the town was who was to become
the receptionist and clinic attendant at Dr. Yucks. In the
end Dr. Yuck chose a young man much in need of life
support. Dr. Yucks clinic meanwhile was doing a
booming business, much to his surprise. His relatives
came from far and wide to get treatment.

Climax

Dr. Yuck needed assistant and finally he decided on

Husin Tok Niks daughter.

The local imam Brother Lah was most rankled at Dr.
Yucks choice because his daughter has not been

chosen.
Brother Lah keep talking what he had done for Dr. Yuck

from his childhood.

There were some conflicts and misunderstanding
between them.

Faling Action

His elder sisters call from Bongi to said that they

younger brother Jeepie is getting married and Dr. Yuck
have to sort out the dowry. Dr. Yuck was supposed to
arrange the home-coming feast for Jeepie and his
brand-new bride but he have totally no idea of such
things. He is a novice. Elder sister tersely reminded him.
He is the famous person around that place. She said
Youre the country doctor, remember? Dr. Yuck
relented after that. The whole thing was a resounding
success

Resolution

Within a day Dr. Yuck was back at his clinic. He decided

that he want to show to all that person that had always
insult him and make him felt so down in everything. He
will become a new greatest country doctor.

Man vs. Self

The protagonist who is Dr. Yuck felt so upset and lost all the time because his
bussiness on hi clinic were so slow and no one from the village wants to see him
for the treatment. He began to wonder if his clinic was cursed.

Man vs. Man

The protagonist who is Dr. Yuck had to faced the cruel Brother Lah who is so
angry with him about the job that Dr. Yuck needed assistant. At first, Dr. Yuck
decided on Hussin Tok Niks daughter but he has so many conflicts with Brother
Lah. Finally he did the done thing and hired Brothers Lah daughter.

Protagonist is facing conflict with psycological and pyhsical.The protagonist

depends all his life on luck. However, he has kind elder brother, Brother Nahrou
who had helped him at all the time when he had a problem. He also had to
opened a new clinic at Molo to have a new life there.

5. Theme
What is the main idea in the story? (include supporting details)
Dont easily give up for all that happens in our life. At the beginning of the
story, Dr. Yuck felt upset when no one from the village wants to get a treatment
from him. The clinic wasnt making as much money as he would have liked it
to. Luckily he could still count on his wife. At first, he felt so down and dont
know what to do. However, he still got his elder brother that helped him so
much until the ending of the story.

6. Is the story trying to teach a lesson? If so, what do you think the lesson
is?

Yes, because as Ive read this short story, Ive learned that family become first
for all times. When Dr. Yuck is in the big problem, his elder brother, Brother
Nahrou, meanwhile, was forever on his back to help him when he needed
someone. Besides that, his elder sister always reminded him that he cannot
give up and have to be more mature when solving the problems. His family
were so close and that teach me a lesson that family were so important to our
life.
