ROOM 1
WRITING ROOM
Snapping Strings, 1pm-2pm
Henry Raby
Between 2012 & 2013, Henry documented various
music gigs by writing poetry on-the-spot inspired by
the music, personality and, of course, the lyrics of
various acoustic musicians. This resulted in a zine
called Snapping Strings in 2013 and collaborating
with musician Travels By Telephone to produce a
poetry/music/story-telling fusion show called
Practise Patience. This workshop will explore how
to take your favourite song, or favourite type of
music, and find ways of playing and reshaping its
essence into a new poem or piece of writing.
ROOM 2

The craft room will have plenty of stuff in it until the close of
this building at 5.30pm, so feel free to come in and unwind,

the craft room, just to cover the cost of the materials!

FILM SCREENING + DISCUSSION
Leeds Queer Film Festival: celebrating the best in
new and alternative LGBTQI cinema from around the
world.
We are a small collective that have been going for
the past 5 years this year the festival will be 16-19th
July. We will be screening films that centre on the
experiences and are the voices of queer and trans,
people of colour, sex workers, and those with non
binary queer experiences.
We are not for profit and make the festival as cheap
and accessible to you all as we possibly can!
Our aims are:
1. Provide a platform for queer independent film
makers;
2. Provide a social space for queers thats non
commercial, affordable, safer, inclusive and not
alcohol focused.
3. Bring people together both from within and outside
of Leeds to make friends, strengthen our community
and build links & alliances.
