SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 - Repository Information
1. Introduction
This document gives information on the repository that is delivered with the SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0.

General Remarks
In this section you will find useful information as well as remarks which are important when working
with the SRM-MDM Catalog repository as well as the SRM-MDM Catalog in general.
The sample users Admin, Master, User1, etc. do not have a password assigned. It is
recommended to set a password to prevent unauthorized access.
You can use sample user Admin for login to the repository in MDM Console.
If you remove languages from the repository or if you are using only a subset of the repository
languages, you have to adapt the MDM Import Manager maps LT_Currencies and
LT_UOM_ISO_Code for remote systems SRM as well as ERP. Remove the fields of the
deleted languages also from the Matching Fields.
The codes and types of the delivered repository objects must not be changed to avoid
incompatibilities. Standard objects have the code prefix MDMSRM_.
Do not use the code prefix MDMSRM_ for your own tables, fields or other objects.
You are allowed to change the attributes of the SAP standard delivered fields and tables
except from the table and field codes and the table and field types. SAP delivered fields must
not be deleted.
For further improving the performance, be aware of the following aspects which have an impact on
performance.
Check the repository model.
Check the fields of the repository and decide which fields to be enabled for keyword search.
Remember: There is also the possibility to bring up new search fields on the advanced search
UI that can be searched independently from the keyword search.
The more fields are enabled for keyword search, the more memory is required on the MDM
Server and the MDM Connector to keep the number of required search indexes. Also the
Search UI connection time will be influenced.
Reduce the number of fields which are set to Sort Index Normal.
Reduce the number of qualifiers which are set to Cache Yes.
Check the repository content.
Reduce the records in the lookup tables by removing the no longer required values.
If you are using attributes: Make sure that attributes are distributed. If you have thousands of
attributes assigned to a single hierarchy node, try to find a logical split.
If you are using Hyperlinks make sure to stay within the same domain as a domain switch
needs to be resolved within the network layer, which has a negative impact on performance.
If you are using Hyperlinks make sure that the links are valid and accessible. Invalid links will
result in timeouts when accessing the link and therefore slow down the Search UI.
Check your search UI configuration
Some configurations of the Search UI can have impact on the performance of the Search UI.
In general: The more information to be displayed, the more information is to be requested
from the MDM Server, the longer it takes.
Do you require list view and context view?
Do you require the Advanced Search?
Do you require Hierarchy and Selection List in the (Advanced) Search Tab?
Check if the selected fields to be displayed are required.
Check if the Advanced Search Fields need to be a Dropdown Box.

Language English always needs to be part of the repository. It must not be deleted.
The languages which are supported by the repository have to be maintained in the MDM Generic
Extractor (MDMGX) so that they are extracted. Therefore go to transaction MDMGX
Define
Repositories and FTP servers and enter the desired languages in field Languages separated by a
comma.
Languages: CS,DA,DE,EL,EN,ES,FI,FR,HE,HU,IT,JA,KO,NL,NO,PL,PT,RU,SK,SV,TH,TR,ZH
MDMGX expects language codes according to ISO 639 (two character abbreviation). These language
codes can be checked in table T002 of the respective ERP or SRM system (field LAISO).
