CONTROL-M for Distributed Systems and INCONTROL

for z/OS

Reminder of future support changes

BMC Software would like to remind users of version 6.1.xx of BMC CONTROL-M
products and components that support changes will take effect in 2009. BMC will end
support for the products and versions listed in Table 1 on page 2 and Table 2 on
page 3. This end of support complies with the BMC support policy as stated on the
Customer Support site (http://www.bmc.com/support_home).
For the BMC CONTROL-M for Distributed Systems product, BMC recommends
upgrading to version 6.3.01. For the BMC INCONTROL for z/OS product (formerly
INCONTROL for OS/390 and z/OS), BMC recommends upgrading to version 6.3.02
or later.
Version 6.3.01 of CONTROL-M for Distributed Systems, released in January 2007,
offers several enhancements. Enhancements to version 6.3.01 include a central
configuration management for all CONTROL-M components (for both distributed
systems and z/OS), agentless scheduling, Web Launch for client interfaces,
integration with CMDB and Remedy, and support for new platforms and database
releases.

NOTE
BMC plans to release CONTROL-M for Distributed Systems version 6.4.01 before the support
change takes effect.

BMC Software has recently released Maintenance version 6.3.02 of INCONTROL for
z/OS (formerly INCONTROL for OS/390 and z/OS). This release includes support
for version 6.3.01 of CONTROL-M/Enterprise Manager (including support for the
new Configuration Manager component), integration with Remedy and CMDB,
built-in support for BMC Batch Impact Manager, incremental upgrade support (C-1
support), installation using default parameters, and the ability to clone INCONTROL
installations.

CONTROL-M/Agent for UNIX and Microsoft Windows (and are not available under their
original product names).

Starting with version 6.2.01, CONTROL-M/CM for Java Applications, CONTROL-M/CM

for Messaging, and CONTROL-M/CM for Web Services are packaged together as
CONTROL-M Business Process Integration Suite (and are not available under their original
product names).

BMC Software recommends that users of CONTROL-M/eTrigger switch to the

CONTROL-M/Enterprise Manager API or CONTROL-M Business Process Integration
Suite.

Starting with version 6.2.01, these servers are packaged under the name
CONTROL-M/Server for UNIX and Microsoft Windows (and are not available under their
original product names).

Support for CONTROL-M Integration Module for PATROL version 6.1.01 and 6.2.01 will
end as of June 30, 2009.

Table 2 lists the INCONTROL for z/OS (formerly INCONTROL for OS/390 and
z/OS) products and versions for which support will end as of December 31, 2009.
