Only wanted to survive -Expressive wilding: wilding for sheer satisfaction (teenagers acting wild) -Instrumental wilding: ambition, competitiveness, and greed that advance the self at the cost of others. -Durkheim believed that individualism could poison the bonds that make social like possible. -Durkhein ANOMIE CHAPTER 2: -Starts off with explaining different stories of husbands killing their wives and vice versa. -Susan Smith: killed her children in order to be with a man that did not want to date a woman with children. Ended up in jail. -The ultimate WILDERS. CHAPTER 3: -The wilding epidemic is worsening by the cultural forces. -TV shows such as Survivor, where people act like the Ik- trying to win -More shows like house of cards and breaking bad. -Wilding in universities such as assaults, cheating -Desperate for good grades 75% of students admit to cheating -Students are constantly taking out loans while the universities make the money -Cheating in NFL and baseball with steroids -Grand Theft Auto widing CHAPTER 4: -Companies are opening factories overseas for cheap labor. -Workers have horrible conditions

CHAPTER 5: -In 2008, capitalism gone wild. -Part of the American Dream was owning a home. -Banks were giving out mortgages to people who could not even afford it. -Eventually people had their homes taken away. -All the banks were bailed out by the government with tax payers money. -Did not pay that money to cover student loans. Why? -Because most of the corporations are in Washington, donated lots of money for campaigns of the people running the show. CHAPTER 6: -Detroit filed for bankruptcy in 2013. -This happened because many people fled the to suburbs or other states. -Detroit used to be the center of the auto industry. -Auto industry left Detroit to places like mexico and china for the profit. -By 2009 only few GM and Chrysler facilities were left. -Companies like Taco Bell, McDonalds, etc. pay minimum wage which is not enough t live. -Many of the auto executives moved to the suburbs- not paying city tax money -Voting suppression: decreasing voting hours, strict ID laws. CHAPTER 7: -Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin- Wilding -Economic wilding by gun manufacturers and sellers is the cause gun violence. -Sandy Hook elementary school -Innocent children accidentally playing with a gun and shooting. -Gun violence is higher in the US than any other country. -Higher gun possession does not mean higher gun violence. Strict laws decrease. -The biggest gun makers are owned by privet funds run by Wall Street. -NRA is a economic and political wilder. CHAPTER 8: -Global warming is being denied by many because they are responsible for it. -Its all about the money
