Solutions that serve all branches of the U.S. Military

Many innovative solutions are in the field right now, like the Multi-Climate Protection System
made with Nomex for optimum thermal protection in the harshest weather conditions,
the Army Aircraft Crew Uniform, and the Combat Vehicle Crewman Uniforms for
enhanced protection.

DuPont Nomex
Leading the way in protection against flash fire injuries

Army Aircraft Crew Uniform

(A2CU)

Combat Vehicle Crewman

Uniforms (CVCU)

The A2CU replaces the ABDU

and delivers 100% Nomex
protection, while providing the
same styling and camouflage
patterning as the Army Combat
Uniform. So now mounted
warriors continue to have the
premier protection they expect
from Nomex gear.

Made from 100% DuPont

Nomex, these uniforms offer
significantly more protection from
fire hazards and burn injury than
standard ACUs. In fact, this gear
can help enhance survivability
during mission-critical operations
in high-threat environments.

Flyers Coveralls (27/P)

When seconds make all the difference
In battle, theres never a shortage of dangers and risks. Flash fire can be as lethal as a snipers bullet
or an IED. Ground troops, tank crews, aviators, and flight deck crews know that it is an ever-present
component hazard. Escape time may be measured in fractions of seconds.
DuPont Nomex is the fiber thats engineered to stand up to flame temperatures in excess of
2,000F. Proven on the battlefield and in industrial situations, Nomex is inherently flame resistant,
so the protection wont wash or wear out. It wont melt, drip, or support combustion in the air,
giving your warfighters the confidence it takes to focus on the fight.

Protecting the best demands

outstanding protection. And
DuPont Nomex has been helping
protect aircrews for over 40 years.
The first personal protection use
of Nomex was for Navy flyers.
Today, Flyers Coveralls made with
Nomex are the choice of aircrews
in all branches of the service and
are worn as part of an ensemble
that includes anti-g suits and
flyers jackets (36/P and 45/P).

Tested to ensure enhanced survivability

To help ensure DuPont Nomex met the extreme requirements
of Air Force flight suits, our scientists pioneered a laboratory
simulation of flash fire conditions. Thermo-Man lets our technicians
study the results of extreme temperatures on a range of materials.
The data obtained with 122 heat sensors helps us calculate and
predict the location and percentage of second- and third-degree
burns that military personnel may experience in a flash fire situation.
With this unique knowledge, were able to create and test new
technologies to provide superior protection.

Multi-Climate Protection
System (MCPS)
Designed to perform in the tough
environments above the earth,
MCPS offers six specially designed
layers to give aircrewmen optimal
thermal protection in all weather
conditions. Multiple layering options
with Nomex add up to superior
comfort and make MCPS another
key component of a flyers
protective ensemble.

Flame-Resistant Army
Combat Uniform (FRACU)
The next generation FRACU
with DuPont Nomex is here.
Developed in conjunction with
military fabric manufacturers,
this garment offers superior
Nomex flame resistance
and durability.
